It seems that the VM-101 is out of stock @ tigerdirect.ca From SometimesWarriors post about modding the 6600gt, i got a similar plan myself but dont know if it will actually work out. I plan to unplug/remove teh stock fan fromthe heatsinks and place a 120mm vantec stealth (yes i noe, its crap, but t...

My friend has a ZM80D-HP so I'm going to get the VM-101 :). If Edward is using it, im pretty confident in it though like Ed said, i might break it O_O but o well, whats life without risks... edit: the VM-101 is better performance wise right? Cause i have to travel to tigerdirect to get the aerocool....

Edward, I also have the MSI 6600GT AGP card and i find that the little heatsink beside the big heatsink ( i believe the bridge) is hotter than the big heatsink at IDLE and LOAD, but its just slightly hotter than warm i can lay my finger on it without pain. And i have delicate fingers, just to let yo...

Shutting the MSI 6600GT up!
I just bought my MSi 6600GT (AGP) vga and unfortunately for me, it everything reviews say but quiet. I have thought about using my existing vantec stealth (not quiet) and blow air at it vertically. The thing is, i dont think there will be any airflows. The other alternatives i was thinking of was ge...

I dont know if i'm talkin about the same thing here, but my Sonata came with a ONE fan PSU and i say its pretty hard to suck in hot air from the CPU because there are those holes on the side that spells ANTEC to give it cool air. Its not alot, but i think it is sufficient to overtake the hot air fro...

White noise generator - worth the trade?
Are these white noise generators good at dampening noises? In my co-op placement, we've just moved into a new area and it is ENCLOSED entirely, anyone could hear me talk if i were to raise my tone even a bit. We were going to have these white noise generators installed to dampen the noise so others ...

I could be your monitor. I had the buzzing noise awhile back and i thought it was the motherboard. Whenever i load up 3D games, the buzzing gets worse and after a few checking, I found out it was my samsung lcd monitor that was casuing the buzzing. I turned up the brightness from 50 to 60 and the bu...

downloaded the 1.06 / 2.0 REV .ini file. The temps were exactly as they were before. Still no Diode/Core temperature. But the fan speed reporting seem more ACCURATE. Before my minium fan was at 36xx RPM where as now it is 18xx RPM. I guess I will leave the MBM5 for now and get my hands on the 7000B ...

Yea, the SI-97 along with a decent quiet fan is almost twice as expensive >< teejay, based on the pictures of your other thread, I THINK the 7000b would fit because i have about the same amount of space between the mobo edge and the PSU. Also, MBM only reports 2 temperatures on my board, Case and Di...

How Quiet is this > ?
I have a AXP2800+ cooled by a crappy Volcano7+ inside a Sonata. I have done some silencing but I cant seem to achieve COOL and QUIET ><. How quiet is my Sonata right now if i hear a small hum from about 3.5~4m. Maybe its just my head, or its really something, but the hum is not loud but noticeable. ...

My mobo does not allow me to undervolt the CPU ><. The stock voltage is 1.650 and in windows CPU-Z displays 1.7~v. The lowest voltage I can set it to is the stock voltage, i tried underclocking the CPU and only 1-3° difference in temperature. As for the temperature, I believe it was the Core not the...

Cool and Quiet Athlon XPs
First time posting in the CPU Cooling section. :D I currently have a Athlon XP 2800+ Barton inside a unmodded Sonata. As far as i can tell, my Tt Vocano7 is the loudest piece of cooling device I have and it is not doing a good job at cooling my CPU even at medium voltages. I have a Nexus fan control...

When i get my hands on the MSI 6600GT imma give it a try and pray it works. Cause SmartDoctor worked so great with my Asus 9600XT. I could make the 9600xt ABSOLUTELY dead silent (0% fan) and ROAMING loud (100% fan) whenever I want. Theres also a SmartFan feature that controls the fan depending on th...

I got LOTs of space below my AGP slot. I saw your post earlier and thought about it too. Since you're here, I might as well ask you a couple questions. 1. What 80mm fan do you recommend using for this simple mod? 2. Where can I get those rubber nails u got connecting the fan to the heatsink? 3. I ha...

I have the A7N8X-E Deluxe mobo along with a Athlon XP 2800+. I am planning to purchase a 7000CU to replace my Tt Volcano9. THE MSI 6600GT is suppose to be the QUIETEST 6600GT offered.. Mariner: I know they have a passively cooled PCI-e, it is unfortunately they are not making a passively cooled AGP version of it. Atleast not at the moment Petrolhead, is ur MSI 6600GT the PCI-e or the AGP version. The cooling system for ...
