The choice of case is not nearly as important as the choice of what goes inside it. A computer being used in an auditorium can actually be a lot louder than SPCR standards for a desktop system, for several reasons. First, the human ears involved are probably much, much, much further away. Second, a...

You asked for a Micro-ATX case and a m-ATX case is what was recommended to you. It would help immensely if you would list what motherboard you were planning to put into a m-ATX case. Sorry about that sleepygenius, I want to use a A8N-E Asus motherboard. I know that some Micro-ATX cases can house a ...

Currently I am looking at the Antec Overture II 761346-15730 piano-black/Silver Steel ATX Desktop Computer Case 450W SmartPower 2.0 ATX12V v2.01 compliant Power Supply. This computer case is horizontal which is great because it can sit on the desk and if need be a flat screen monitor can sit on top ...

imo, this is currently the best micro atx case. unless you want a desktop/HTPC or cube style case. http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=93300# even comes with a seasonic 80+ 300w psu. which is more than enough power for anything you could fit on a microatx board. I am looking for a micro-ATX case. Does anyone have any suggestions? The computer system will be used in an auditorium so the box has to be quiet.

Thanks! :D

Burnt out PSU?

Good day! Last night before going to bed I performed a orderly shutdown on one of my computers. The shutdown was uneventful. I woke up this morning tapped the button on the front of the computer as I would any other morning only to discover that it won't turn on! I reached to the back of the...

Thermal overheat protection will save your CPU in the event that your CPU HAS failed. You're one of the first people who's asked for a faster (and with it, noisier) fan. If you're handy with circuits, there's an alternative to purchasing a new fan. There are Tach generating circuit diagrams availab...

First thought was that you connect a (modest power) case fan with speed wire to the cpu header and plug the sensorless Panaflo in one of the other mobo headers. However, I've got the Asus A7N8X-E, exactly same message used to be rec'd. Problem with my mobo is, the BIOS can't detect cpu fan speeds u...

CPU_FAN failure?

OK here is the good news. I just turned on my computer build for the first time and I didn't blowup anything nor did the lights dim. WHEW! When I turned on the computer the first time I was able to enter the BIOS. The computer was on for about three minuets. The second time I turned it on ...

Thank you jackylman and Spod for your comments! Jackylman , Now that you mention it the tube only covers about ½ of the 12-mm fan. So whatever benefits I was going to receive by keeping the tube in place are probably lost anyway. Spod , You are a mind reader! 8) I have been asking myself “In which d...

Probems closing the computer case - Antec SLK3000B

I am building my computer using a Antec SLK3000B. I installed a Thermalright XP-120 heatsink with a Panafol - FBA12G12L-1A fan. The problem is when I attempt to close the case. The Antec SLK3000B has a vent on the right side (if you are standing in front of it). On the inside of that vent there is p...

There is one big problem with getting high quality media, you often don't know what you're getting, "major brands" usually outsource to companies like CMC magnetics(bad), moser baer, mitsubishi chemicals(good), or Taiyo Yuden(good). You are so right! IBM is a perfect example of what outsourcing is ...

my suggestion will sound kind off. If you got the money, for the Plextor dvdrw 16x, it can do everything, burn dvds and read them. Also you are getting the best burner. If not, get a cheaper dvd burner, once again it can do everything, and you are also future proof, if you ever need to burn a dvd. ...

I am looking for an excellent CD burnner. I went to the store today looking at the Plextor. The salesman pointed out a Sony CD that will RW AND read DVDs. I never thought about having a CD burner that can read DVDs as well. Can anyone suggest an excellent CD burner that also reads DVD? Of course I d...
