Re: Ivybridge low noise/power system
I'll try the Asus Fan software for the miniITX board later. The ASUS software package is pretty awesome for the GeneV board. First time even I would consider installing software that comes with a motherboard. Asus is far ahead of everyone else when it comes to the control software. I exchanged the I...

Ivybridge low noise/power system
Hi, If anyone cares, I have been playing around with some ivybridge CPU's and a couple of motherboards. My minimalistic ivy bridge system draws 25.1W from the wall in idle with screen/gfx on. Intel 3550 Asus P8H77-I Mini-ITX 2x2gb at 1.65V Intel 520 SSD 120GB PICO PSU I didn't have time to play with...

Any news on this issue? I'm getting an Ivy bridge and would love if my 7970 fan would turn off while not gaming.

bit-tech.net has a review of the GA-MA785GMT-UD2H up now. The most positive thing I can say about this "new" chipset, is that AMD did change the name from 880G to 785G, all tough 780.1G would have been even more fitting. Seriously, if this is what AMD can come up with in 18 months of development, th...

Is it me, or does this article seem a bit.. ehh, rushed? Why test against a discontinued Intel processor? Why not run tests with integrated gfx on/off to see if it's acually off. I would like to see how the Athlon II X2 250 preforms against the 5050e/4850e/BE2400. This is pretty easy drop in replace...

Squealing nVidia cards
I was looking to buy a nVidia GTX 285 video card for my completely silent computer (and watercool it), but as I was reading up on the card, I noticed a lot of people was complaning about coil-squealing cards. Then I came across this http://theovalich.wordpress.com/2008/11/24/nvidias-deadly-flaw-and-...

Which links? One is for Seagate and the other is for Samsung. They are different beasts! Doh, can you blame me for seeing Seagate as Samsung in a Samsung thread... Both start with a S and is seven letters  Well, it's pretty frustrating having to wait and wait and wait a bit more for this drive.

Still no news of a socket-P motherboard i guess. I wonder when we can expect one, since the much lower price on the new 800mhz CPU's are making the old socket 479 boards a terrible buy right now. I'm almost giving up waiting on the MoDT Socket-P's and getting a Gigabyte P35-DS4 or Gigabyte P35-DQ6, ...
