Shriek, if you don't want a dangling HD (I didn't either), this solution might appeal to you. NoiseMagic NoVibes III attached to the cage-mounting thingy at the bottom of the case using velcro. My HD is now super quiet and stays nice and cool, and with the velcro it is very secure. Keeping the HD at...

I have the SLK3000B. The stock fan is extremely quiet on the low setting, but loud on the mid and high settings. I replaced mine with a Nexus 120mm and, just like the SPCR review says (the 3000B review I think), the Nexus at full 12V speed is maybe a tiny bit louder (or maybe just qualitatively a bi...

Case: Antec SLK3000B. I love this case, but it's a bit of a PITA to rig up a home made elastic suspension in the SLKs. So I bought a NoiseMagic NoVibes III. Is this cheating? So I figured the least I could do for the SPCR'ers is NOT just screw it into a 5.25" drive bay. I want my HD down low, where ...

MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum passive chipset cooling?

I have ordered the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum mobo for my new system, and I just realized the mobo has a fan on it to cool the chipset. I am getting a Zalman7000AlCu to cool the CPU, but I am wondering if the chipset fan will negate the benefit of the quiet CPU cooler. Should I get a ZALMAN NB47J NORTHBR...

Antec SLK3000B and Samsung HD: vibration?

I read the thread discussing the review of the SLK3000B case. I had decided to order a Samsung Spinpoint HD, but after reading the discussion about the mods required to silence the vibration noise from the Spinpoint/SLK3000B combination, I am not so sure. I would prefer not to do mods if possible. I...

Oh yeah, duh. So I will get the SLK3000B for sure. But my question is the same: Any opinions on whether I need a front fan in the 3000B? I know the 3000B has better front air flow because of the orientation of the HD cage, but would a front fan still be a good idea?

Thanks Jordan, I'll check out your comments. Note that I will be getting the Seasonic Super tornado 400W instead of the stock Antec PS.
