Looks like WD already did a silent update of the GreenPower 1TB to 334gb/platter.

Worth keeping an eye on, at any rate.

My p182 isn't the quietest out, but seems to handle an o/c q6600 and 8800gts ok, running at 100% (just cpu) all the time. No extra fans, just the two tri-cools on low and an undervolted nexus on the ninja cpu cooler. I'll probably swap out the tri-cools at some point, they're a bit noisy for my liki...

You can but try. The e6750 isn't particularly high powered, but I'm not sure how it would go 100% load all the time. I'd be inclined to try ducting from at least the ninja to the exhaust fan (many examples around here in the articles/fora). However, you may as well try as-is first, if it works, why ...

Concur with the filter comment.

I still have to clean out my case periodically, but it's nothing compared to what the filters stop (my case sits on carpet, which I'm sure doesn't help things).

I would go with the Thermalright Ultra 120 or 120 Extreme over the Ninja to cool your CPU. Horses for courses. The ninja will do a good job, the TR u-120ex the best, but there'll only be at best a few degrees in it. As far as the Quad Core goes, what I really don't like about it is that they are cu...

Impressive; I had heard that the ihs could be concave, but that's pretty bad.

The 300h; is that 300h of usage? Surely not 300h of lapping! How long did it take all up?

Why 3gb of RAM? Why not just get 4x1gb dimms, or better yet, 2x2gb? If budget is a concern, get 2gb now, 2gb later. You're running Vista64 I hope? You also don't need ddr2/800 unless you are going to overclock; even ddr2/667 will take you to 3.0ghz without o/c the ram, but the g0 q6600s are said to ...

Of course, a higher oil price encourages the proliferation of alternative fuels or technology (such as electric cars), thus the oil shale producers aren't just competing against traditional oil, but also all the other techs that start to become competitive at the higher price points.

Petrol has just hit A$1.40 here in Australia, which is high by our standards. The other strong correlation with fuel price is housing price; every time the price jumps,...

Scythe Samurai Z? It's reviewed here at SPCR. I grabbed one for a height-limited setup, and it's a bit loud at 12v but you don't have to drop the voltage too much before it's acceptably quiet. I found the stock cooler for e4300 was OK, but the fan had an annoying buzz to it - not loud, but sort of penetrating. So it had to go : )

Plus, when o/c to 2.4ghz, it started to struggle a bit... I presume the e6600 hsf is a bit beefier to start with.
