to the best of my knowledge, the fan is spinning. Not really changing speeds though. I have a call into AOPEN due to the thermal grease issue, which, due to the design of the heatsink and other things, is really hard to tell what touches what and what is supposed to touch what. In the mean time, I a...

Hi, I need help with Aopen MiniPC.....
Greetings to all fellow silencers, I just built a AOPEN minipc with a Celeron M 1.5ghz, 512 RAM, and a WD Scorpio 60 GB drive. So far, so good, with the exception of ZERO documentation. After struggling through, I managed to get it booting and installed Win XP. Yay! I intended to use this as a very ...

I built a computer using this case. LOVED it. QUIET, and excellent stability tempuratures. Onlu thing was it is pretty big. I like my computers on my desk. So, I built a new AMD64X2 rig using the same as my other computer, Antec 2650BQE. Mid to small in size, and I will silence it by using a NEXUS 4...

WOW, I got a nice welcome! And orange fonts to boot! Thanks. As further testing progresses, and I am leaving my new machine on 24 hours, I am totally thrilled. This puppy is sitting one foot from my head and I can still barely tell it is on. The Phantom is exceeding all expectations. I touch the bac...

i don't think that continuous monotone noises are necessarily of great disturbance; indeed, the human auditory cortex is supposed to periodically ignore such sounds - e.g. ringing noises/artefacts. Many other people i speak to say they don't notice their computer noise anymore because it's always t...

Update. I got the Nexus 120 in there, and put the voltage lowering cable from Nexus to the chip fan, and voila! I have a VERY quiet computer. When the accustipak gets here, I hope to have that coveted "muffled" SILENT computer. I have the Nexus and the Antec sitting ON my desk, each about 18 inches ...

Building my second silent rig, first is a Nexus...
This one starts with a Antec 2650 case. Not know for silence, I know. It is really an interim build to learn soe stuff. P4 2.4 Northwood, Intel PERL board for stability. Had a Nexus Cooler left over, so started with that, the stock case fan, and, oh yeah, THE ANTEC PHANTOM. I just had to try that pu...
