Re: Fan Roundup #6: Scythe, Noiseblocker, Antec, Nexus, Ther

Just a quick observation: The link at the end of the article points to the thread from the 5th round up, not this one.

Also a question, Was that an older picture of the Kanomax 6803 Anemometer? The picture shows that it's 3 years overdue for a calibration.

Let me count the ways I've killed my numerous PCs: Bad Power supply during an upgrade - Dead MB Water leak (CPU block corroded) - Dead Video Water leak (bad install and no leak test!) - Dead MB Water leak (let my son get too close and he yanked a tube just enough to have a *very* slow leak) - Dead M...

Being someone who watercools his machines, I always look at the placement of the chipset heatsink that is below the expansion slots. Looking at the MSI, the heatsink is directly below the PCIe slot and may prevent someone from watercolling the chipset and having a discreet video card instaled. With ...

Oh, and wild tangent alert - whilst we're on standards - 5.25", 3.5", 2.5" - what's that all about? The UK is probably second only to the States as the most metric intolerant country on Earth but I'm pretty sure that on both sides of the Atlantic precision engineering and science is done in metric....

Wasn't AMD talking about a GPU socket awhile back? Reading this thread makes me remember my dad's old PB computer. The ISA was implemented using a riser card and mounting system. An interesting variant, based on a old Intel design would be a riser card(s) that on one side would have PCIe slots and o...

Odd that your test show very different temps than here. Of course, my friend has a Quad @3.3GHz not a Presler. I don't want to compare with SPCR testing only with my friend's testing. All those heatsinks were tested in one session. Anyway Megahalem is the first heatsink better than TRUE. He is surp...

Valid questions if it was a 1ghz single core from 1999... its an 4x2 core chip!! The amount of heat put out by the I7 and Core2 chips is below that of the P4EE. I'm not sure on the numbers but it seems to me a cooler like this should be able to handle the heat without a fan, albeit with slightly el...

This cooler ships with no fan. What is the performance difference without the fan? I.E. How much of difference does the fan make?

I guess I fall into the group of people who are "saving PC sales". :) My girlfriend and all of her roommates are jealous, since my brand new, teeny little $500 machine (including taxes) can do just about everything that theirs can (except gaming), and it gets 5-6 hours of regular usage battery life...

PolarFLO HDD46 Copper Dual Hard Drive Liquid Heat Sink

Anyone have any experience with this Dual-HD water block?
http://www.frozencpu.com/ex-blc-243.html

Or any other Dual-HD water block for that matter. It's for use with a Resorator based system.

Thank you.
