I believe that ram runs like raid0 so bandwidth won't be an issue with 4 sticks even if you ran them at 333. Timings on the otherhand might be not that it makes much of a difference. This is incorrect. Each 32/64 bit word is stored completely on one memory stick. The reduced clock rate would slow t...

Yes it fits XP-120, as I mentioned in a different thread; I have two computers with AN8-SLI and XP-120. One of them is the same one with S12-600 in a P180. -Ed I know the AN8-SLI fits. I read that thread. The pictures of the AN8 Ultra show that the heatpipe and chipset are in a different position a...

The AN8-Ultra is very hard to find. NOT AN8 FATAL1TY!!!! Newegg, tiger, zip, directron didn't have it. Pricegrabber, froogle, copernic don't know it either. Took me about 5 hours of searching. $136 at ATACOM to bad in state Sales Tax. Good work. Does anyone know if this board can use the Thermalrig...

A dual DVI nVidia 6600/6600GT or an ATI X800XL should do the trick. Both are PCI-E native and work well with a Zalman ZM80D. For the non-warranty voiders, Gigabyte makes fanless versions of both cards for a small premium but you will have to forgo dual DVI because they didn't choose to implement it.

Yeah, be sure to note the post above about the -5v line. This is not part of the newest ATX specs, so many new supplies do not have it (the Seasonic S12 and even older Super series). This -5v is used for the onboard SB Live! chip and it will not function without it, however if this is not needed, th...

I would venture to say yes, although you might need to block off some of the ventilation holes to make sure that you get directed airflow over the xp-120 through the CPU duct. I would be cautious with the intake fan and also the additional video card vent on the side panel. See the following excelle...

Thanks Ed. I had already bookmarked that thread before. Great work I must say. In that system, does the system run cooler normally with the directed airflow from the side panel duct and VGA duct or with the panel off, without the ducting? If it runs too hot with free airflow I will definitely pursue...

it's the same level of heat, it has to go SOMEWHERE. I generally agree with what you are saying, but consider that the amount of heat produced total in the case is probably <60W @ full load and probably <25W @ idle. There are no air channels to speak of because there are no panels, etc. on the case...

Quiet A64 build with minimum fans

Hi all. I am a long time lurker. Thanks for all the help with silencing. I have trimmed my workstation down to an acceptable noise level with your help. I am looking for a little more power and a little less noise in the next build. I am well aware that this is not by any means an optimum solution b...
