Re: Nvidia Titan X (2016) / GTX 1080Ti (Pascal GP102) is out

an RX 480 is better for computing 64/16 things than a GTX 1080. "double precision" It should not be. The 1070 and up should blow away the RX 480, but nvidia purposefully spent money on and redesigned the chip so that a user had to buy the inflated price card. That is how nvidia works, always works, ...

Re: Nvidia Titan X (2016) / GTX 1080Ti (Pascal GP102) is out

It has terrible compute scores. they hobbled it so regular users cannot use it for scientific computing. Have to buy the original Pascal card. Thieves.

Re: RX 470 Review Compilation thread

eh, if you read windows 10 version only (which is like vast majority of the planet), dx 12 and vulcan, the card performs really well for its price. USA has some at 179$ for the Red Devil.

that's cheap for what it does

it can play 1440p decently well.

I fear that they are not flawed :)

I fear that fear is flawed and things are flawed. Why is stuff so confusing? Also, that 224 watt reading on the MSI just seems kinda nuts.

amd is done aside from being in every xbox and playstation now and the in future as well as servers and selling out constantly all rx 480's for next two years, and being faster and less wattage than a 970 gtx, which, 10 minutes ago was the best "spcr" card possible. done aside from that sure. oh, an...

Yes, I would absolutely agree with you for gaming or regular use or watching movies. One issue is that I am using it for..... porn. oh, i meant, scientific computing. Yes, I volunteer my cards and machine (hopefully multiple one day) to scientific computing. The power draw, if excessive, can make a ...

MSI Gaming X @ Techpowerup added. Damn, seems like a great card for anyone looking for AMD, wink El Jefe, We've previously reviewed the ASUS RX 480 STRIX, which was quite noisy, and the AMD reference design had even worse noise. Other reviews on the web confirmed this problem for nearly all of AMD ...

http://lanoc.org/review/video-cards/7283-amd-radeon-rx-480-8gb?showall=&start=6 This is a really nice review. Very thorough. That review is backed up by this review, different graphing, and still very useful. https://techaltar.com/amd-rx-480-gpu-review/2/ Seems that the claim AMD made are very vali...

is this a bug in AMD software for windows? or for the card's firmware? or by the AIB makers? Is it only on certain AIB cards?

I want to get one tomorrow, a 480 gb with custom cooling. I am confused as to what review means what being that there are so many bugs and differences of reviews.

Re: GTX 1070 Review Compilation Thread

Power targets aren't an exact indicator of actual power use. They set the "stock" limit on any user overclocking. Someone correct me if I'm wrong as I don't have a new card and s/w on hand...can't you go into the overclocking utility and set up a profile that limits the power target? So, you could ...

Okay, my card came today, and I got a good one. It overclocks to 2.1gHz, and today was hot. It hit ~94F outside, and we don't have A/C. It is good to note linus tech tips here. I believe he is one of about 2-3 who are devious and lie and hide truth about benchmarks. Really nothing to believe as he does. The FTW version is a bit more juiced up but has bigger cooler as Neil said, so probably? similar results. Such small price differences between things. I wish reviewers would do a whole line against themselves so each model can be understood.

for some reason, the founders edition is really great this time with the 1060 GTX.

For a blower style, it seems to be decent for what it is.

Re: GTX 1060 Compilation Thread

all games that are high end graphics are developed for AMD hardware and graphics as xbox and playstation are AMD machines. Vulcan, mantle, the free api's are where it is at for 2016 and beyond.

I think AMD fell into this or planned it, I don't know.

Re: GTX 1060 Compilation Thread

When dx 11 benchmarks were out, everyone knew that AMD was terrible for several years compared to nvidia. Dx 11 is a pc thing, vulcan is, from what i read, a way for consoles to program. It unifies programing away from Xbox as being standard relying on Dx whatever. So, this potentially has enormous ...
