Technically it fits, but the tops of some of the heatpipes just barely graze the cover. Perhaps there is some sample variation and I have one on the tall side, but I think I have to conclude that the Megahalems is not a good choice for the Antec Fusion Remote Max case. If I really wanted to insist o...

Antec Fusion Remote Max with Prolimatech Megahalems?

Tried several different searches on the forums and I don't *think* this has been asked yet... Has anyone tried a build with the Megahalems in an Fusion Remote Max case? I know that Mike's review of the FRM used the Orochi. The Orochi is about 4mm shorter than the Megahalems and I cannot tell from th...

Auto/marine weatherstripping as an alternative to Sorbothane

I don't have room to suspend my drives in my HTPC case and I never seem to get around to ordering Sorbothane strips from McMaster-Carr. However, when my power supply died and needed to be replaced, I had a chance to try and improve some things in my HTPC. I happened across some "Marine and Automotiv...

How are the drives of owners of SFF systems that are tilted (like the recent review of the AOpen EY855-II) holding up? Like the HPs mentioned earlier by AndyB, many shuttle SFF cases are tilted up in the front and the drive cage is oriented so that it tilts with it. Have drives proven reliable in su...

Skyline Graphics is listed as the distributor for JMC on their website. You can contact Charles Boyd @ Skyline Graphics (enilyks1@msn.com, 214-388-7922). A 60mm JMC Panther should be around $8 (plus shipping). However, swapping to a passive heatsink or at least one with a bigger fan may be a better ...

Note that the 92mm JMC pwm fan I purchased was *not* a Panther. As Frank points out, I certainly do expect a 3700rpm fan to be much noisier than the Nexus, but I also expect that the PWM control would allow the motherboard to bring the speed (and noise) down when that much airflow is not needed. I c...

I was looking into doing something like this as well for my wife's machine. She has a horribly noisy HP Pavilion that I've been slowly upgrading. Swapped out the PSU for a Seasonic Super Versatile 200, swapped out noisy fans and heat sink, etc. Now all that is left is to get rid of the really noisy ...

Could also be the power supply, although I'd avoid doing on the PSU the test you've been doing on the motherboard...

I put a Seagate 7200.8 400GB SATA into my Media Center dedicated as the storage for all the recorded video and a Seagate Barracuda IV 60GB used as the system drive. Both are currently hard mounted to the drive bays in a Silverstone LC03V case. I haven't gotten around to installing MCETweak yet, so t...

What's your impression of the 92mm fan? How does the PWM control work with your MB (Intel....?)? Thanks! Finally got around to trying it tonight (the machine the fan is destined for is a huge success as a media center pc...which means it's hard to find a good time to take it offline without people ...

Sorry if I'm reviving an old post, but I have an update that might be helpful to anyone else that decides to order one of these fans. The fan arrived very quickly and appeared to be in good condition, but it did not work when I initially plugged it in. However, luckily I noticed that the fan's 4-pin...

The NV Silencer 6 (Rev. 2) just went up on newegg.com last night for $37 (a bit high, but nobody else seems to have it yet). I just ordered one for my PCI-Express version of the 6600. (Note: if there are others like me that went with the 6600 rather than the 6600GT, the NV Silencer 1 (Rev. 2) also i...

I finally found a source for the JMC fans with 4-pin PWM control. Skyline Graphics in Texas is listed as the sole US distributor for JMC, but their (very) rudimentary website (http://www.homestead.com/prosites-skyline/files/index.html) does not list any of the PWM fans (nor the JMC Panther fan that ...

Yeah, I'm using a 92mm Nexus 3-pin fan right now and it works fine. However, if there's a 4-pin PWM fan available, I'd like to try it out.

Or should I stick with the "don't fix what ain't broke" rule? Nah...that's no fun!

I have been looking for one as well. Surfing madly, I finally found that JMC makes a line of PWM fans in sizes 70mm, 80mm, 92mm, and 120mm: http://www.jmcproducts.com/products/pwm_fans/ Haven't found an online store carrying them yet, but I suppose I could order direct from them. Note that it appear...
