Idles at 46W. Didn't think it was relevant.

Re: Quiet 4K Gaming PC Build Guide

Is this a typo? "— Idle, all fans at minimum speed (14 dBA@1m) — Resident Evil 6 Demo Benchmark (peak), CPU/rear fans at 700 RPM, front fans at 650 RPM, GPU fans at 1680 RPM (23 dBA@1m) — Total War: Attila In-Game Benchmark (background music/score), CPU/rear fans at 700 RPM, front fans at 650 RPM, ...

Re: Asus Maximus VIII Impact Mini-ITX Skylake Motherboard

1) Did you tested the tuning? is it like fanXpert and overrides the minimum preset values of the bios? 2) Can you change the curve for the SYS_FANs, i mean not the presets but like breakpoints? I did not test the tuning but yes, Fan Xpert usually overrides minimum values in the BIOS. Yes, you can c...

Re: Intel Core i7-6700: Skylake i7 at 65W

Thanks for the review. While the Core i7-6700's specified TDP is 71% that of the i7-6700K, our sample failed to deliver substantial power savings. The vanilla model is undoubtedly more efficient but not by a significant margin. If you're leaning toward the non-K variant because of its seemingly low...

Re: 120mm Fan Roundup: Scythe, 1stPlayer, Reeven, Phanteks

In your experience, do the "static pressure" fans cope better than typical fans when attached to dense radiators I have not tried these specialized aftermarket fans on radiators but as I mentioned in the summary, the stock models included with the AIO coolers (that presumably are designed/chosen fo...

Re: Asus Skylake Z170 Motherboards: Maximus VIII Gene vs. Z1

- There was some FUD in the forums around the Z170-A's control of the chassis fans (that perhaps Asus reverted to DC only for their lower priced Z170 boards). Did you have a chance to control a PWM fan in one of these connectors? I set one chassis fan header to PWM in the BIOS, fan-tuned it, and it...
