Kudos for the quick response, Tibors . I suppose your upgrade option explanation may account for the use of "statt" in their descriptions... So, the other possibility for getting the S12s or the HTs is from the vendor you bought yours from: www.sh-edv-vertrieb.de . This seems promising: Hello, we're...

Difference between 300 and 320 GB WD-JD SE HDs?
Just wonder if anyone can confirm that the only differnce between the 300 GB Western Digital Caviar SE WD3000JD and the 320 GB Caviar SE WD3200JD , is that the former has been "crippled" by hiding 20 GB from the user. They appear to be physically identical (e.g. same no. of platters) they and are al...

Condat
I'm looking into buying the SS-351HT PSU from shop.condat.com (the vendor gipfeli says he bought the SS-301HT from). I noticed that they have two entries for this PSU... One of them is described as "bulk", article no ATA-0330, price €16.50 (German VAT included), while the other one is described as "...

PSU
Hi Torbjörn, Regarding the PSU, you may want to take a look at overclockers.se . They have the 460W SuperSilencer, but AFAICT by the product-ID: PS-SS-460-A2, it is the A2 revision :(. They are however 100 SEK (11 EUR, 14 USD) cheaper thank kylning.com... Overclockers.se also have the Seasonic 300W ...

RAM, CPU-HS, MoBo etc...
That was some really interesting info Erssa, thank you so much for the heads-up! It's been such a long time (6 years) since I last built a computer that I wasn't even aware of the possibility of running RAM asynchronously, let alone that this can be done with no significant performance hit on the A6...

DFI, HIS X800XL, mCubed T-Balancer etc...
Thanks for the expedient replies, Beyonder and Graham! Well, I did some more research on other NF4 MoBos, e.g. the DFI Lanparty Ultra-D / SLI. In many respects, the DFI boards are better performers than the A8N SLI and they allow greater OC-control as well. Passive cooling with the ZM-NB47J does wor...

Radeon 9700 is AGP
Carl,
Unless I'm mistaken, the 9700 series are all AGP cards - so you can't use them on a PCI-e board! Passively cooled PCI-e Radeon cards are harder to come by, I believe.

Compatibility issues
Hi Carl,
According to this German site, you may have a hard time getting your Geforce to run on that MoBo. I've also had a look at that board, but at the mo I'm more inclined to getting the ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe for reasons discussed in my post.
Cheers,
Kryten

Almost decided, just a few more q:s...
Hi all! I'm in the process of putting together a new rig and my main objectives are (1) quietness , and (2) stability . Don't really care for SLI, but want PCI-e . On-board fire-wire and 8-channel audio are preferable. Intend to OC within reasonable limits, though this is a lesser factor. Background...

Nexus fans
Nexustek is a Dutch company http://www.nexustek.nl/hq/. There are links on their website to various vendors in the EU. I ordered from a Dutch site myself, as I can't seem to get the Nexus fans anywhere in this country.
