I don't think I'm going to SLI the 8800GTX especially if the boost will only be minor compared to a 7950GT SLI. Not to mention I do want some breathing room in terms of power consumption. A single 8800GTX is usually faster than 2x 7950GTs in SLI mode at high resolutions (1600x1200+). I have a LCD w...

That being said, I have a Revo 5.1 which sounds much better than my old SB Audigy 2 when using the analog outs. You may also want to check if m-Audio intends to write Vista drivers for the Revo 5.1, ...

I say it's a wonderful idea! The tricky issue is that the external bits have to be small enough to fit through the PCI slot opening, which will really limit the size fins you could attach. That or you'd need a way to make the external bits easily removable for assembly. Hmmm....could be interesting...

I noticed my previous speakers hummed a lot when I had them plugged into a battery powered outlet of my UPS. I moved the plug to a seperate surge protector and it quieted down. So, if you've got it plugged into a UPS, you may want to try a different outlet/powerstrip.

Yes but neither the PCI nor the AGP 6800/6800GT/6800 Ultra cards have the large PCI-Express to AGP bridge chips, because those are all native AGP chips, and the components that allow them to work on PCI-Express are built right into the GPU packages, being quite small. The 6600GT is a native PCI-Exp...

I just bought the brand new Zalman VF700-CU GPU cooler for my LeadTek 6800GT. While the stock cooler is much quieter than Nvidia's reference cooler it still sounds like a CD spinning at x20. Quiet? NO! Is your 6800GT PCI-e or AGP? Reason I'm curious is that I was looking into a 6600GT for a HTPC I'...
