Don't know if you tested but if you did how much did your temps drop after removing the hard drive cage? I did test that, if remember correctly the temps droped a few degrees due to the "airflowimprovement". What tools did you use to remove the hard drive cage so cleanly? Used a pair of plairs to g...

Got a new disk, Samsung 200GB, and activated Cool 'n' Quiet, which made my temps drop.

The new disk:

Surprisingly enough the temperatures stayed tha same as they were prior to the AcoustiPack. Why is that surprising? I don't believe that heat radiating through the case is significant. Obviously not :) I don't really know why I was surprised by that, suppose I thought that the temperature would go ...

Got the pre-cut AcoustiPack for SLK3700BQE today, the installation took about 15 minutes and was really simple, the only thing that had to be removed was the PSU. Here comes the results: Front: http://hem.bredband.net/b271998/front10.JPG Side panel http://hem.bredband.net/b271998/sidepanel.JPG The "...

Badger wrote:bha* - how did you remove your HDD-rack? Or anyone with a 3700BQE, how exactly do you get the rack out of there?
Used a pair of plairs to get rid of the things that hold the rack inside the case and then a screwdriver to bend it out of the case.

If you run your 120mm fans at 5V they barely move and don't generate any noise, but carry just enough air to keep the temperature down.

Curios how the seasonic PSU was in noise compared to the stock PSU on the SLK3700BQE?? The PSU that comes with the case is as noisy as a regular PSU, the Seasonic is alot quieter, especially if u run the fan at 5V. The only noise that I can hear from my rig (when all the fans are at 5V) is that of ...

Case: Antec SLK3700BQE

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 200GB

Got rid of the HDD-rack and fixed the suspension out of an elastic rope of some kind, the result looks pretty ugly but is quite efficient so the looks don't bother me at all.
