Ordinary reviews are not very usefull most of the time. A good PSU according to SPCR standards is very different than a good PSU according to the vast majority of hardware reviews.
That's why I would like to know if any SPCR-member has any experience with it.
Thanks, simplex.

Silverstone SST-ST46NF PSU anay good?

I noticed this PSU (SST-ST46NF ) in a webshop for 71 euro. It has a 120mm fan (Everflow R121225SL) with temp. control.
I can't find anything on SPCR about this PSU and because Silverstone make high quality cases, they might also make other good quality products.
So, anyone?

Bobov,
I'm about to buy the same components but I'm a bit concerned about the temprature of the NB and VGA.
Do you have any problems regarding hot components? Do you need a lot of extra cooling?

I have sent an e-mail to www.pa-enclosures.com to ask if they could offer the Seasonic S12 series. According to the Seasonic website, they are the Dutch retailer for Seasonic PSU's. I received an answer the next day telling me that the S12-series are not yet available in Europe(!) for the next 1 or ...

Sebo, welcome at SPEC!!! And thank you for, perhaps, very good news. This may bring Seasonic PSU's one step closer to Holland :-). I'll keep an eye on their website.

Tibors, you're right. I should also consult google.
Personaly, I find the TJ06 to expensive. For 1/3 of the price you an buy the SLK3000B, one of the most rewarded cases at this forum.
The Sharkoon, however, is much better priced! That could be an option.
I am going to look for more info on that one.

I have not seen the Silverstone TJ06 in any Dutch webshop (www.tweakers.net/pricewatch) yet.
According to the specs on the Silverstone website the special wind-tunnel in the TJ06 with their passive NT01 CPU-HS is not compatible with the Asus A8N-e/SLI. A possible large bennefit is lost this way.

Another possible advantage of the A8N-e over the A8N-Sli could be the fact that the A8N-e is a later design. Perhaps certain design-flaws of the first versions have been taken out in the later revision. Too bad indeed, that the Venice-cores and the Enermax V2.0 are not yet available in Holland. I am...

If you're not going to use SLI the Asus A8N-e also is a very solid mobo for just 103 euro. Saves you 40 euros (but doesn't have FireWire onboard).
You said you want to overclock. Maybe the Arctic Freezer 64 is better up to that job. Also very cheap (18 euro).

OK, thanks.
Then I better stick with a Noisetaker. I am also monitoring that German website where you ordered two Seisonic PSU's. They changed their wesite a bit and still no trace of the S12's either..... I was also a bit dissapointed about the sloppy package you recieved.

Enermax Coolergiant-series quiet?

I was thinking about buying a Enermax Noisetaker 370W when I came across the Enermax Coolergiant EG485AX-VHB(W) SFMA.
I know SPCR approves the Noisetaker-series, but is the Coolergiant also very quiet?

Looks well thought over.
Too bad Seasonic PSU's are very rare in Holland. Maybe the Enermax Noisetakers are a good candidate as well.
For the CPU coler, the Arctic Freezer 64 is a solid option. Cool and quit.

I was hoping somebody already tried it before and could give me some pro's and cons.

Switching sidepanels SLK3000b and SLK3700BQE

I'm about to buy a Antec SLK 3000b with a Enermax Noisetaker PSU for my upcomming AMD64-system (AMD3000+, Asus A8N-e with Zalman HS, X800XL with Zalman V700). I'm not sure if I should close the intake-holes on the side of the case. Is the side-panel the same as the side-panel of the SLK3700BQE? I ca...

Looking good! I'm about to buy almost the same components. Is this Geil Ram 1x1GB or 2x512 MB? And wich speed? Are you going to replace the fans on the mobo GC? Most stock fans are really noisy. I'm choosing Nexus fans while they are pretty cheap in Holland. I'm waiting a couple of weeks until the A...

Thanks again, Tibors. If I go for a Seasonic I would like a genuine S12. On the German website they say that those are soon to arrive. I can wait a little longer (waiting for the Venice-core AMD64 anyway) and then I decide. As for now I think the Enermax Noisetaker also is a solid choise. And also b...

Well done, Tibors. I was waiting for your comments on this German webshop because it is one of the few sources of Seasonic PSU's available to Dutch people. I'm not into (big) overclocking. Maybe I''m giving it a try, but my main concern is reducing noise. That's why I still consider buying the Asus 8NA-e or the Epox EP-9NPA+ Ultra. With these Mobo's I think it is relative easy to replace the chipset HSF. Do you guys think it is worth waiting for the AM...

I am about to order and built nearly the same system as yours. You can check on the comments in that thread if you want (it was posted in the same group 2 days ago). Seems a very solid choise IMHO. I had the same struggles regarding the P180 and will probbably go for the SLK3000b. If the Venice is i...

OK, thanks for the advise Tzupy. I can order one extra Nexus fan. They don't cost that much and are always handy. This way I can experiment with 1 or 2 fans.
The VF700 also seems a valid choise. What do you think of the passive Gigabyte GV-NX66T128VP?
Whitch PSU do you use?

@yeha

Soltek boards are not available in the shops in Holland. Is there a big difference between the two motherboards I proposed?
I am willing to go for the Twinmos memory and the 3000+.
Any thoughts about the PSU's?

@m0002a

The Soltek is not an option because of availability in Holland.
