i used to quiet Lian Li's back in the day. what you need is bitumen, the really heavy stuff used to dampen cars, (engine, sound system etc) to get aluminum relatively quiet. it is the only thing that works period, as aluminium is a nasty devil when it comes to resonance noise. http://pici.se/picture...

can 790GX chipset switch from discrete gfx to igp in idle?

i think amd promised that the 790gx was to be able to power down the discrete graphics cards and run on the igp on low load and then switch back when needed.

i've read the few reviews that are on the netz but haven't been able to find any info on this. anyone here who knows something?

The slip stream cuts the air more times/m resulting in a higher pitched sound at the same rpm to the YL but probably gets a gain of static pressure and thus a higher CFM in the right situation. So drop the rpm talk. Just compare CFM to noise. You will probably see the biggest difference in an enviro...

Need "poor man's P150" for client.

Gonna build a quiet system for a client on a tight budget. I usually build with the P150/solo case. Are there any cheaper Midi NSK cases or something that you can swear by?

Thanks!

Why not just get the Antec Fusion? And don't tell me "I wanna go 100% passive". In that case you would have to go HFX but then you don't get the dial.

m2a-vm hdmi is excellent as it has: VGA/DVI/S-Video/Composite/Component and dual view from the box.

According to the manual the yellow composite RCA is an input "connects to video source". All other connectors on the bracket are outputs.

After second thought you might need the "longer" soft mounts for the fans as they are Nexus (YL), that have pipes between the bolt holes which makes the short ones hard to fit properly. This can be sorted though quite "easy" using som tool like a knife or Dremel. But it's best to use the long ones l...

Jennifer, isn't that board is a uATX? Then do you really need a ATX case? Also, You should get these instead of the gasket: http://www.acoustiproducts.com/en/ultra_soft_fan_mounts.asp And get a Samsung DVD-RW instead of NEC. They cost a bit more but make less noise. Finally the new 3,5 hard drives a...

I second Mike here. I would go for a Am2 build. Even if you don't need dual core the X2 3600+ is dead cheap now and runs cool. Add a energy efficient AMD 690 board and a NSK 3300 which is quite small, comes with a psu and is also very cheap. As the NSK 3300 is a tower case you might be able mount a ...
