Sounds faulty, could be coil whining (check the forums for more experienced peoples experiences). I have a fanless Etasis which makes no noise (after having one fail after 3 weeks and make a buzzing noise). Contact the seller for a replacement.

I have had one Etasis fail on me after three weeks (started buzzing which was also picked up by my amplifier).
