If it really based on a CWT model it might just be ok, soundwise there is no telling untill a good review is done on it, not a crap one like,: "Oh I it's silent too" , review that you see on a lot of review sites. But until then if you are looking for a cheap silent psu, a Antec smartpower 2.0 is a ...

Well it has been a while, wanted to show you my finished system. Exchanged the Nexus nx-3000 for a Antec Smartpower 2.0/400 watt. 80 mm Nexus on the cpu @ 7 volt, 120 mm Coolermaster UV blue as outtake @ 7 volt, my 120 mm Nexus died on me, the store is replacing that one, but the Coolermaster is ver...

I also use a Nexus 120 mm in my 3700BQE, according to Spcr recommendations it's the most quit at 12 volt, although I use it at 7 volts.
It comes with a 4 pin molex connector and a 3 pin rpm connector, you don't have to use the last one.

Seasonic psu's at a low price even with shipping cost.

Had the same effect here in my own 3700Bqe, the sideways drive cage is responsible for that. I can't really see if you have room for suspending your hd with elastic in a 5.25" bay ?, for me it helped a lot and the temps are about the same. And do you really find the coolermaster psu that quiet ?, I'...

They seem nice and the concept might work, but the number of decibels as specified by Sharkoon seems to me like marketing.

Are you really sure of that ?, try starting up your system without power on the hd's, in my 3700bqe it made a really big difference in sound.

@Hightower, tagan is in the high 70's in efficiency, they may not have the extreme quality like Enermax, but for sound I think they are a real competitor for the top listed psu's here on SPCR, just wish the guys here could test one.

Don't know where you're from, but here in holland tagan psu's are very cheap, and for the silence, effiency and neat cables you get a great deal, but you must have figured that out since you haven one  . I think Tagan is up there along with Enermax and Seasonic when it comes to effiency and no...

Replacement for Nexus nx-3000 ?

Looking for replacement for my Nexus NX-3000. So I replaced my 120 mm and 80 mm fan with nexus and they run on 7 volts, with my hd suspended in elastic, the psu is by far the biggest noise, if you want to call it a big noise that is. Since the nexus nx-3000 is considerd silent will replacing it with...

Yes they are, it was just for testing purposes, but I will keep it like this but with some round elastic like the bungee cord that I've read on the forum.

The previous problems with Tagan psu's are solved in the 2nd revision, I know quite a lot of people that have a tagan, because it's cheap down here, but on the downside these things run really hot so you need a good airflow to keep it cool, the sound seems like it doesn't ever ramp up.

The HD is now suspended with some ugly white elastic I got out of some old sweat pants, will be getting some nice round black elastic for the looks, this really reduces the seek and write noises the best Looking forward to placing some pics of the new setup with the Nexus fans, Greetz. BTW, the Ante...

@m0002a, thanx I will also give that a try, as you can see if you look closely on the first picture I already tried to suspend it with white elastic, this was the best way that I tried, the Maxtor isn't a quiet drive to begin with, but I will first spend some money on the Nexus fans wich are quite c...

It will be the only thing that I will undervolt in my system, does a great job in quieting the fan btw, on the downside airflow is reduced to a minimal.

80 mm or 120 mm fan psu for my system ?

So I got an Antec 3700BQE with the stock outtake fan @ 7 volts, I replaced the stock psu with a Fortron 400 watt 120 mm, but I felt like the airflow from the psu, outtake fan an cpu cooler were "crashing" because all three are "sucking" air, so with the fortron my system was making more noise then w...

Antec stock fan @ 7v, done properly like this ?

Well I now have my stock 120 mm Antec outake fan @ 7 volts like the way that is demonstrated here,: http://www.dslwebserver.com/main/fr_index.html?/main/5-7-adapter.html Is it ok and safe like this ? , it is more quiet than @ 12 volts and my temps aren't that much higher, so can I leave it like this...
