Here is a guide on how to replace fan connectors on the PSU: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article83-page1.html I had to return the 520HX because the fan clicks (from the very beginning) Now i'm thinking to replace the fan all together. I think Noctua 12P would be a good idea because of its performa...

OK, so I've had my GA-K8N system (the one with the stock passive NB heatsink) up for some time now. Speedfan was reporting several temps but I think the NB wasn't one of them. I purchased a temp. probe and wedged it gently but firmly between the hold-down screw's spring, and one of the cooling fins...

Re: Gigabyte GA-K8N Ultra-9 supports CN'Q
Hello: I can confirm that the Gigabyte GA-K8N Ultra-9 supports Cool N' Quiet (BIOS F2). The Athlon 64 4000+ (0.13u ClawHammer) drops from 2.4gHz @ 1.5v to 1gHz @ 1v. And this is with four 1GB sticks of RAM (though the RAM speed is limited to 166mHz, and does not run at 200mHz as it might otherwise)...

Yup, the rear fan sucks air up through the XP-120 and blows it out the back. The front fan is supposed to be the only intake--I have it set at 50% and the rear at 30%. I guess it's working, as I have to clean the filter out regularly (I hate shedding season :x ), but I don't know of any way to veri...

Re: Fans
I knw there is a recomendation section on the website for fans, but there are only 3 92mm fans listed. That doesn't give me many options. I was wondering what people might suggest for my setup shown below. Currently I have a Zalman 92mm fan which sounds like a jet even at 5V. I need something quiet...

Re: Yet another SPCR poster-child
I've since replaced the oft-ridiculed duct tape duct with acrylic. I suspect I may need to dampen it at some point, but I haven't noticed any additional noise yet. The cpu idles around 32C with both fans at 50% Nice work! This is just how i'm planning to build my next comp. Question, are you using ...

A very valid point. For my Asus board it's not dead-center, but I get around 85% coverage, which still makes a difference. --Steve Thanks for the feedback Steve. I guess with Acoustic pak, the overall noise will be reduced. I also like the fact that the 3000b allows a PSU with your own selection. N...

man i love my 3000b, i just finished my rebuild, moving my system from my sonata to it. I also added on an alx800 thermalright heatsink w/ 92mm panaflo and my cpu load temps have dropped from 54 to 45 I'm in the process of building a new system with "silent" cooling in mind. Basically has come down...
