Sorry to dig up this old thread but, do you think these would be better than elastic suspension? I've currently got my drives suspended with a fairly dodgy DIY job and was wondering if this might be a better option cooling and sound-wise. (I'm currently cooling the drives with a 12cm fan at 5V mount...

You can flash a 108 to an A08XL (at your own risk!) and then the Quiet Drive Utility will recognise the drive. Guide here.

Still won't have the extra noise dampening stuff of a real A08XL obviously...
