I bought my P150 (with Neo 430W PS) in Canada, during early January 2006. Sorry, I don't have the PS serial number anymore as I returned the power supply before I knew of this forum. I have an office PC comprising of a MSI RS482M4-ILD mATX board (latest BIOS). It is based on an ATI Xpress 200 chipse...

Both my nexuses are sucking out of the cabinet atm. might try reversing one of them when i get a bit of time and/or putting in a tricool in the front to see if that makes any difference. And i do have the AMD cool'n'quite driver installed and active. Ok I don't have CnQ turned on yet - but that sho...

Are you sure your fan/airflow design is optimal? I believe you'd get better results by e.g. blocking the top vent, removing the front fan, lowering its speed and attaching it to the Ninja. I got the impression that as it is, a lot of the air that the rear fan exhausts from the case is coming straig...

I just put together a system much like yours, a X2 4800+ w/Ninja HSF on a ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe MB in a P180 cabinet. I'm running nexus fans at 12v in the back and top slots. Right now i'm running the distributed.net client (eats all cpu cycles and then some on both cores) to check my temp readings...

AMD 4800+ temps in P180 - are they "good" or not?
Hey folks. For those with AMD X2 chips in a P180 - I need to know your temps. I'm running passive (Ninja), with a YL 12cm x 25mm fan in the rear vent, top vent open except for the spoiler and an AC foam filter under the spoiler... Top drive cage removed, with another 12cm YL fan in there... Both fan...

Part of the problem is with the Ninja - I HAVE to remove the MB from the case to re-mount it. And if I do that, I might as well lap the Ninja. (That's a lot of work and I would rather avoid it if my temp really is ok) I'm looking for comments - and at this point I'm going to install WinXP 64 (after ...

Assembly complete - concerned about temps
Hey everyone. I put my P180 / 4800+ / Ninja system together yesterday. In BIOS (no load) after a few hours of running, the CPU is showing a temperature of 55C. Ambient is about 24C. So I'm getting a 30C temp rise at no load, and my YL 12CM fan is running at 1300 rpms. I'm concerned that my heatsink ...

I guess one option is I could cut two of the wire ties (opposite corners). SInce the weatherstripping is isolating the fans from the chasis - all I nee is a little tension holding the fans to it. Funny thing is now I'm regretting now doing the foam mount method. (Although that isn't very secure - I'...

yes its better to install it upside down, there will be a larger space for the PSU fan and also better cable managment. Actually there is more room betwen the top of the PS chamber and the PS "box" then between the bottom of the PS chamber and the PS "box". I just measured - although it is kind of ...

P180 PS mounting
I mounted my Seasonic S12-600 in my P180 today. (MB comes tomorrow) I assumed that the fan should be be on the "top" as opposed to the bottom. I just checked Mike's "hole 9 yards" review and it showed the fan sucking from the bottom. I'm afraid that this probably is the better way of doing it - both...

Not quite sure I follow you... The weathersripping is not very compressed at all - since there is a ton of surface area compared to the rubber "washers" / zip ties. I fear that in my efforts to seal with weathersripping... That I have caused the "coupling" of the case and fan via the tight zip ties.

Zip Tie fan isolations
I mounted my first 120mm fan today. I think I did a great job - but I may be completely wrong. I used rubber weatherstriping (adhesive backed) to seal between the fan and the chasis, between the four rubber (vacuum tubing) stand-offs. To get a decent seal (because I made my stand-offs about 3/16" in...

Fan Mate + MB speed sensing?
I'm having trouble finding this answer.
I believe I should be able to use fan mate to throttle the speed of various system fans - and then use 2 of the 3 pins of the MB header to monitor speed. (Maybe disconnect the +12v so the MB isn't trying to but 12v in parallel with 7v?)
Should this work?

Ninja was installed on my board in my 3700AMB after taking the motherboard out. Ditto for the P180. No problem at all. There's really no problem getting screws down in the top-most rear and top-most center screw mounts? Granted I do not have my A8N32 yet, or my Ninja - but from Mike's P180 pictures...

I don't think you can alter drivespeed with a firmware hack can you? It seems like that only gives you bitsetting.. I posted a question on cdfreaks, I'll let you know what they respond with. I'm not completely sure I'll be using windows permanently either, so software probably isn't a good idea. Tha...

Quiet DVD reader(writer?)
I bought an NEC 3550A for my HTPC.
It's freaking loud.
Info on DVD-rs seem to be pretty scarce/variable through the forums, does anyone have good first-hand experience with a drive?
Using a laptop drive in a brick isn't an option for me, as it wouldn't work with my case.

From AnandTech: When idle, the drive's sound output is barely audible. More specifically, we can't even tell that the drive is on. When actively reading and writing, however, the drive puts out about 55.1 dBA, which is just as loud as the Barracuda 400GB 7200.8. I am NOT doubting SPCR - just wonderi...
