I was thinking of using the Zalman system on my 4200 but my stock Leadtek cooler is pretty big, so I just removed the noisy stock fan and replaced it with the slim Zalman. http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=10102&vpn=ZM-OP1%20&manufacture=ZALMAN%20TECH Took up one slot but cheap, silent and...

I installed my scythe katana and wanted to get some feedback on temps. Installed stock my cpu chip is at 30 C. The fan was a bit loud though, so i hooked up a Fanmate 2, and with the dial turned to the lowest setting its spinning at 1400 RPM. The temp jumped up five degrees to 35 C, and seems to hav...

decided to ahead and get the scythe katana. I have a question about mounting it though. My chip is socket A, so the SPCR article says to mount with the unit slanted up, which is fine. In that position should the be on the bottom or the top of the heatsink? Is the fan an intake or an exhaust fan? tha...

Cooling my Athlon XP Mobile quietly
Hi, I have a Shuttle AN35(N) Ultra Mobo and an Athlon XP Mobile 1800 overclocked to 2.2 ghz. My current heatsink/fan combo is a Thermaltake Silent Boost, which is much to loud. If i stop the fan with my finger my system becomes virtually silent. I am not having much luck finding a quieter way to coo...

how to quiet a Geforce 4 TI 4200
Is there a way to passively cool a Geforce 4 TI 4200? The stock fan on mine is quite loud. If not, can anyone suggest a quieter fan?
thanks

most quiet way to cool an overclocked Athlon Mobile 1800?
Hi Everyone, I am looking to quiet down my computer. I have three fans running right now, a Thermaltake Silent Boost for the pc chip, a fan in my Geforce4 TI 4200, and the PSU fan on my old antec case. I could find the model to the case, or find it on Antec's site. I plan to upgrade to a new case so...
