Assuming you have the Zalman, it depends whether you think the extra silence is worth it. All Zalman fans aren't quiet enough (for me anyway), even on the slowest setting. Their heatsinks are definatly upto scratch but their fans aren't good enough. The Thermalright doesn't come with a fan, leaving ...

Every time I accessed it over the past couple of weeks, it comes back with database errors.

Can anyone else access the website ?

Boot from your xp cd and goto the recovery console.


Then type

disable giveio.sys (or it might be just giveio)


You can enable it later if necessary by using the word enable

Yes its mainly about compatibility. The SI-120 works with almost all boards its designed for. The XP-120 is less compatible, and has issues with a few mainboards.
