With regards to your Noctuas, are you using the same controller? If so, might I suggest setting the rpm really high on the controller (ie: 1500), let the fans spin up and stabilize, then gradually keep decreasing the rpm set speed, waiting for the rpms to settle around the target point. I notice th...

...In its defense, this thing does an exceptional job managing the fans on the low RPM end where a conventional rheostat-based controller would either stall the fans or fail to start them in the first place. It makes it very easy to determine what the lower limits of the fans are, and prevents acci...

Just to give another experience... I've seen 4 samples of the P180 in the SPCR lab, including one very early pre-production sample. None of these have had a warped door, AFAIK. Right, but you can't deny there are apparently lots of P180 users who all got the problem. Imo, I can live with the fact t...

I think Drive-A-Way is not a solution, because it does not reduce the seek noises very much, because de disk is in contact with the aluminium. That's not fully true imo. I own a Nexus drive-a-way, and I'm pretty happy with it. The HD is never in real contact with the outher part of the box, since t...

There are no Nexus fans aviable in Europe. Are they better than Silenx iXtrema pros? I have no idea if Nexus fans are better than the ones you mention, but I suppose they are. But claiming the Nexus fans are not available in Europe is a big no-no! They are available! I don't know where you live (yo...

Hi Salameh,

first of all, welcome to SPCR. Glueing the rubber feet back on shouldn' be much of a problem to me. And regarding the door problem, mine has too. A lot of others have the same issue, and I myself find it a little disturbing too. There might be a (temporary) solution from Antec.

Well, all went pretty well so far. The computer isn't on 24/7, but I did let it on for 3 or 4 days a few weeks ago; without problems. It's a good thing I replaced the fan. It's a lot more silent, I can tell you that. And heat doesn't seem a problem at the moment. All I can say is that the PSU now ou...

the 4412F/2GL will be perfect. I don't know if it will start with that voltage however. If it doesn't start immediately it will heat up and eventually start. For y'all interest: I replaced the stock OCZ fan with the 120mm Papst F2GL. I was surprised to see that the stock, flimsy, plastic, blue leds...

those clips on the SLK900 are for an 80MM fan, thats why they don't fit your 92mm properly. Have you tryed having the fan blow onto the SLK900? it would probably get lower temps then having it suck the air through it. Those are the biggest clips I got. Other pair of clips are even smaller. :( You t...

Two topics I forgot to mention: 1) The Nexus drive-a-way is lying on the surface because airflow is passing by the top of it. Well, those brands of fans are hard to get in Belgium. Nexus, Papst and Enermax fans are pretty easy to find, but no Adda or Yate Loon's. You think the Nexus fan wouldn't have enough CFM's to keep this thing cool enough? Yate Loon's website reports 89 CFM for this fan, but I guess it's only running ...

OCZ Modstream 450W fan replacement?

Since 2 weeks, I own the OCZ Modstream 450W power supply. If I turn off all case fans, including cpu fan, I think the PSU makes too much noise for such 120mm fan. I can hardly feel some air pushing in the back, which means the fan is running slow. Still, it's too loud within my needs. Would it be po...

4 ways to cool the CPU. What's best?

I just got myself a new CPU heatsink, being a Thermalright SLK800 (for socket A). With the included clips, you can place any 80mm fan on it, so I've put my Papst 80mm on it. Now, since it is really easy to turn the fan around (by just removing the clips & turn the fan upside down), so it will suck a...

Yes, I did use the search function. All I can find related to my questions is a post that is over 2 years old.

I'm a newb if it comes to damping stuff, so a little feedback would be much appreciated. I know some people use standard egg crate damping foam too.
