Re: Asus FanConnect - control case fans with gfx card

I also do not have one of these cards. From reading the Asus article you linked, though, it looks like the additional fans aren't tied to the same control as the GPU fans [because they show setting up custom fan curves for the additional fans]. Hmm. The way I'm reading the article is that they're s...

Asus FanConnect - control case fans with gfx card

Hi all, I didn't see this discussed anywhere, so I figured I'd start a thread about it since we are definitely within "SPCR domain" here. I'm talking about Asus' 2016 graphics card feature which is about controlling case fans based on the GPU temperature, found so far on their STRIX GTX 1070/1080 ca...

Re: LianLi PC-C50 HTPC iRacing Build

Thanks for sharing your build. I think it's an interesting case, and unless I'm mistaken there's a review inbound . I've been considering putting together a HTPC around it and a 65W Llano chip, once those finally arrive in stores. I don't know if this seems useful to you, but I think that Scythe's S...

BIOS control also won't allow you to adjust chassis fan speed as a function of discrete GPU temperature, for example. Would be pretty neat, but I can see why it's not going to happen.

Re: Sandy Bridge, Part 2: Intel DH67BL & Asus P8H67-M EVO

But asus claims the 8+2 phase design actually leads to higher efficiency. See the second bullet on their page: http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=CkMiq3rrqw3yqO5H&templete=2 Is it bs? I suppose it can be more efficient under high load, but at idle, it's more efficient to run on fewer phases. IIR...

Can anyone tell me anything about doing a dual display setup with either of these boards? I'm a complete newb when it comes to dual display. I've never done it before. Will it be possible with both boards? And how? Would it be done through the same connector via some kind of splitter or "daisy-chai...

Re: Sandy Bridge, Part 2: Intel DH67BL & Asus P8H67-M EVO

A very useful double review, thank you so very much! I wonder if the Intel board would have a lower load power consumption, had they bothered to cool the VRM. I find the P8H67-M Pro model from Asus more interesting than the EVO with all its VRM excessiveness. It has a more sensible number of power p...

I actually don't understand where this fear of placing a few FAILED inside a table at the end of a test is coming from. FYI: There's also a new 22" model from LG, namely the L226WT-BF , which has identical specifications with the Samsung 226BW -- however the panel is undoubtedly different, since I'd expect LG to use an LG.Philips panel instead of their competitor's. It will probably replace the L226WTX-WF (5ms panel)...

You say you want better airflow in the case -- but is there a specific area which needs better cooling? Nexus, Noctua and equivalent fans have better airflow/noise ratio than the Tricool, so changing that fan might indeed be the best place to start. About placing a 92mm fan in the front, I believe i...

Re: Seasonic S12 430W - no PCI-e power connector

You needn't worry about the 12V rails -- just make sure the molex wire doesn't have anything other connected to it besides the two connectors of the PCI-E adapter. It would be an issue if you were running an X1900XTX or such, but the 6800GS isn't a very power hungry card. You said your computer is s...

Do you have a fan in the lower chamber? If not, then a fan at even 600 RPM will do wonders for your drive temps; at least it does for me, but I’m using a fanless P/S which might make a difference. I don't have an extra fan in the PSU chamber and I'd rather not add one either, since the fan of a g...
