OK, I think I have it clear. Asus M3A78PRO AMD ATHLON 64 X2 4850E 25GHZ BOX(45W) Scythe Ninja 2 4GB 1066mhz Kingston As for the graphics, I'll be using the integrated HD3200. Everything ~300€. Do I need the 1066mhz? Will it mean an increase in performance considering the processor? Is Scythe Ninja...

I don't want go passive just for the shake of it, but for the silence. I don't mind of puting a yate loon exhaust fan, and I wouldn't mind another heatsink fan if its big and extremely noisless (another undeverolted YL). I haven't marked any price, but I don't expect the whole thing going above 300â...

I need reccomendations on a system please! (MB+CPU+Graphics)
I've been days reading bits from here and there to make the best choice, but there's too much information I can handle. I had an Asrock mboard, athlon 64 3200+ with a Scythe Ninja plus a passive GFti4200. Everything worked fine, fanless, until the processor or the mobo decided to die (I cannot work ...

Well, I chose the nForce cause I thought the chipset was gonna be ok with the stock heatsink, anyway is not the first time I get warned about this chipset. I wouldn't like to loose performance for the chipset (does the Ati, or the other chipsets make a difference with respect to the nForce one?). Ho...

I'm confused, so which CPU do I choose?
I've checked the post with the list of processors and their steppings, but I still don't know which of the cores (ie Venice will the best temps. I'm looking for the cheapest, the 3000+. And a bit of OT, what motherboard would you recommend me (with passive cooling of course), I was thinking of the A...

the human brain can't distinguish a difference of only 1 dBA...... That's not true. The dB scale (and in consencuence de A ponderated scale) is "designed" if you like to adapt the human ear sensitivity. Usually, at larger intensities, harder it is to identify a fractional increase or decrase in int...

Aren't SilenX Xtrema Pro 120mm specs RIDICULOUS?
According to Silenx, this fans moves 64CFM with 14dB(A)!!!
Does anybody know the real dB and CFM value it could have? What about motor/ bearing noise?

I'm hopeful a USA source pops up that has the Yate Loon 140mm fans. It seems Silenco in Germany carrys it-but I'm unable to read German so I don't yet know the price in $US,with shipping. I have a German friend and likely could get help, but a basic newegg order would be less hassle. Most major reta...

Is Noisebloker 92mm fan better than Yate Loon?
I've already ordered Yate Loon fans but im dissappointed as I've just checked other fans and seem quite superior in both noise and airflow.
Noiseblocker @12V:
22 dB/a and 64m³/h
Yate loon @12V
28 dB/a and 55 m³/h

Now that I check, Yate Loon 92mm pushes 32.35cfm vs 57.1cfm and the 80mm 25.3cfm vs 39.0cfm of the stock fan. Which fans you used? Also, if the airflow isn't enough, wont the PSU adapt the voltage to lower the temperature back? By which fan you tried to replace the PSU? Anyway, I'm looking forward ...

Is the Nexus HDD Enclosure dangerous to the HDD itself?
I've been told that many people have "crashed" their hard disk when put with the Nexus noise damping enclosure. Is it true? Does anybody know something about this?
BTW, How effective is this enclosure? Does it performs as well as the Molex silentdrive?

I used to use a TP 480w and tried various fan-swaps in that to quieten it down. In the end I gave up as I had to run the fans too fast to keep it cool (exhaust temp under 50C). I strongly recommend that you consider selling the TP and replacing it with something known to be efficient and quiet. Hav...

Swap Antec's TruePower fans for Yate Loonies
I wonder if for Antec's Trupower 430W stock fans (one 92mm and another 80mm, temperature controlled) for Silencio's Yate Loons would make a significant noise reduction (plugin in directly to the 2 pin molex without any resistance), could it cause trouble when the PSU's canges the voltage according t...

Thermaltake Typhoon BETTER & QUIETER than XP120 with Pas
According to this review, Thermaltake's Big Typhoon , doens't performe better than an XP120 or XP90C with a Silent Paspt... but is quieter . I'm a bit confused, since the comparision seems quite rigurous. Is the XP120 overvaluated? Or it's just the Typhoon is so damn good. Remember the undervolted P...

I meant those silent blocks, or antivibration screws... don't know how to call them :P (pic) so that the fan isn't in direct contact with the metalic screws and thus with the case.
