I'm not sure about the specs or power draw, but looking at the card without the massive cooler, it looks like your standard GPU surrounded by Ram. I'm also curious about this combo. Zalman's website says the cooler will work with 1900 series cards, but I'm not sure if that's old copy that doesn't re...

Thanks for the input. :) I really like the layout of the board, which is the main reason I want it. My current board layout is one of the worst I've seen, and I only realised how bad it was AFTER I got it all set up. I think the new board will provide better cooling for my vid card, because atm my 7...

DFI nF4 SLI Infinity Good Board??
What do you guys think/know about this motherboard?
I'd of course swap the NB fan for a passive Zalman, but I'm curious if anyone knows anything about this board.

I'm curious if the drivers on the ATI chipset are actually. . .you know. . .good. The most annoying thing about my nForce4 board is the crappy drivers. I can't even install the IDE drivers if I want my PC to boot. nvidia really needs to work on that. I should be able to install every bit of the inst...

now, IMO, this board is just about as perfect as can be. it still doesnt have DVI, but the board layout is just about as good as you can ask for. plus i love how they put the pci-e 1x slot between the 16x and pci slots, so when you use an aftermarket gpu cooler your not blocking any "important" exp...

I've been told that hard drives get worn in like a pair of shoes to their orientation. I don't know how true it is, but it makes sense to me. Basically, if your drives have been mounted in a horizontal configuration for a long time, they might act up if you move them to a vertical mount, since the b...

Big Fat Duck wrote:the stock cooling on the 7800GTX is utter crap, have you ever looked at the TIM on the inside? Its like white crap with threads in it.. really cheap. Only the gpu has proper paste.
Yeah. It is really crappy product. I replaced all the thermal paste with AC ceramique before I modded my card.

Go here, and do this mod. http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=37&threadid=1687685&enterthread=y I tried this after using a VF700, and it keeps the card just as cool as the zalman, but it is sooooooo much quieter. And I even used a fan that isn't sold as a quiet product. Great mod that...

In the review of the P180, the above was proven to be true as far as I remember. Your current config of bringing air in the top and out the back provided best cooling for the CPU, but left airflow pretty much non-existent in the lower section of the top chamber. I suggest either adding an intake fan...

WoW. I like how the chipset cooler is being (very, I would think) actively cooled by the silencer. Does the nb cooler create any turbulence being that close to the silencer blades? Really cool mod. If only the rev. 3 cooler was good at keeping my vid ram cool. :( Other than that fact, I like the dar...

I contacted the vendor from whom I bought my AC Silencer Rev.3, and he told me the recall was in regard to the power plug problem. I fixed that easily. I read about the RAM tape not sticking very well on a review, but I didn't have any problem at all with that. It stuck very well using the RAM Sink ...

Maybe it's through fault of my own that my RAM is hotter with the AC than the Zalman, but I wouldn't think so. You see, I installed the AC cooler properly on the underside of the card, but left the RAM sinks on the top side from the Zalman cooler. The flimsy, aluminum(looks/feels like) RAM sink from...

I'm currently in a struggle between which of these coolers will get to stay on my 7800GTX. I've had the Zalman since I got my rig built along with a 7000ALcu for the CPU. They both have done a decent job for me, but I've always suffered from a higher SYS and PWM temp than I would like.(I don't know ...

newegg is out of stock right now, but the frozen site at the top of this thread has some. I ordered mine. As soon as I install it, I'll post back with results as compared to my Zalman VF700. I also have a CNPS9500 on order. With the push/pull effect in my P180 also with the vid card heat getting sho...
