I'm not sure about the specs or power draw, but looking at the card without the massive cooler, it looks like your standard GPU surrounded by Ram. I'm also curious about this combo. Zalman's website says the cooler will work with 1900 series cards, but I'm not sure if that's old copy that doesn't re...

One more thing. I've done some searches, and besides the usual unhappy customer here and there, I can't find too much info about this board. Are there any peculiarities/funky issues I might come across during setup that you could give me the edge on or what everything easy and smooth? Thanks again.

Thanks for the input. :) I really like the layout of the board, which is the main reason I want it. My current board layout is one of the worst I've seen, and I only realised how bad it was AFTER I got it all set up. I think the new board will provide better cooling for my vid card, because atm my 7...

DFI nF4 SLI Infinity Good Board??

What do you guys think/know about this motherboard?

I'd of course swap the NB fan for a passive Zalman, but I'm curious if anyone knows anything about this board.

Will an eVGA 7800GTX fit in the P150 easily?

It's damn near impossible with my P180 if I use a HDD in the top chamber.

I used to use that cooler and I would say count on losing the two PCI slots closest to your gfx card.

Bottom one would be usable without a doubt.

Hey Ryan.

How is stability with this board? I'm sick of having to tip-toe around my nForce4 board when updating/installing drivers.

Was setup smooth and easy or was it a pain like many nForce4 boards can be?

Thanks in advance

I'm curious if the drivers on the ATI chipset are actually. . .you know. . .good. The most annoying thing about my nForce4 board is the crappy drivers. I can't even install the IDE drivers if I want my PC to boot. nvidia really needs to work on that. I should be able to install every bit of the inst...

now, IMO, this board is just about as perfect as can be. it still doesnt have DVI, but the board layout is just about as good as you can ask for. plus i love how they put the pci-e 1x slot between the 16x and pci slots, so when you use an aftermarket gpu cooler your not blocking any "important" exp...

I've been told that hard drives get worn in like a pair of shoes to their orientation. I don't know how true it is, but it makes sense to me. Basically, if your drives have been mounted in a horizontal configuration for a long time, they might act up if you move them to a vertical mount, since the b...

Yeah. It is really crappy product. I replaced all the thermal paste with AC ceramique before I modded my card.

Go here, and do this mod. http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=37&threadid=1687685&enterthread=y I tried this after using a VF700, and it keeps the card just as cool as the zalman, but it is sooooooo much quieter. And I even used a fan that isn't sold as a quiet product. Great mod that...

In the review of the P180, the above was proven to be true as far as I remember. Your current config of bringing air in the top and out the back provided best cooling for the CPU, but left airflow pretty much non-existent in the lower section of the top chamber. I suggest either adding an intake fan...

Not a fan of the AC Silencer, so I'm always looking for another good competitor.

I have the cooler as well, and on the lowest fanmate setting it cools better than my cnps7000 and is quieter. I can barely hear it.

I agree. On high speed it is very loud.

I'm thinking maybe you got a bad fan if you cannot lower its speed.

my 7800gtx with the zalman runs around 43idle and maxes out around 70 at load.

I turn the fan up to 12v with the fan controller to game, and run it at 5v when idle. it is easily the loudest fan in my computer.

Maybe it's through fault of my own that my RAM is hotter with the AC than the Zalman, but I wouldn't think so. My VF700 has ramsinks.

I'm going to buy the AC cooler. I like the idea of it venting the heat from the back of the case. The only thing I don't like about my zalman, besides the kinda noisy fan is the large amount of heat dispersed into the case.
