Re: Quiet ATX Gamer, R5 Version
Hi guys, I did my version of this build (see sig) and I'm pretty happy about it ! Other than the front R5 white fan that clicks a bit (even when at full speed can you imagine) and I'm too lazy to change it, it's great. Very impressed by the Strix; mine has no coil whine whatsoever and fan actually s...

need your expert advice for GTX 280 and S12-600 + adapters
Hi guys, Now I know my system does not fall in the "silent" category anymore since it drifted on the performance side of things where it becomes very hard to "make silent". Nevertheless, you were always the best for PSU advice so I am going to tap into your electrical knowledge, If you please. :wink...

dhanson = I tried this one and it came 600w flush. I checked 20% capacitor aging since the S12 is nearly 3 years old and has been powered on close to 24/7 for downloads and folding. yet, this doesn't rate the 12V rail requirements, which seems to be te problem the other PSU calculator pointed out. a...

is S12-600 enough? PSU calculator says NO! (aanet.com)
Hi, I came straight here for my PSU related interrogations since you guys are the only ones not reccomending 1kw psus for no reason. I bought a nice S12-600 a couple of years ago to power my dual-opteron rig and it served me well. Now i'm upgrading to a quad-core system (dont ask me why, I just have...

A8N32 fan control : A8N32 users please awnser this
Hi all, It's been a while since I posted here but you are still the silence experts so there you go. What headers are RPM adjustable on this board? Currently, I use CPU_FAN header for CPU fan and CHA_1 for the top fan (blowing in). Both are adjustable. Some speedfan config files I downloaded...

A8N32 and QFAN2
Hi, The Q-FAN2 controller on the A8N32 seems to be really worse than the original Q-FAN I had on my A8N-E. The old one would ramp up slowly until I reach the target temp, which could be changed in the BIOS. Now I get a drastic change from 7v to 12v at 45C CPU, which is clearly noticeable since my CP...

Hi, I just came across your thread by luck I guess. I am building the SAME EXACT system as you are, and I would like to know if you had any problems with it. Also, i am also going to order the Silverstone PP01 kit form NCIX to extend my cables, and i want to know if it took longer to order the 16$ o...

Is my S12-430 giving enough power?
Hi, I recently added an Opteron 165 (Dual-core) to my system to replace my 'old' 3200+. I have since experienced random BSODS (MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION) and I want to know if it is possibly PSU-related of if I should look elsewhere. CPU is 24h DualPrime Stable and videocard is 24h RTHDRIBL+Prime stab...

Thanx for the reply, I forgot to mention I am seriously overclocking this system. I've got a 3200+ Venice that I know can do 270 FSB (2.7GHz) at 1.65V and 2*512MB of Winbond BH-5's that I will run 1:1 with 3.4V or more to keep the 2-2-2-5 timings. The videocard is a 6800GT running beyond Ultra speed...

Changing 120mm fans in P180, need information.
Hi guys, I finally decided to buy the P180. I want to replace the two 120mm TriCool fans on top and rear with 120*38mm Panaflos to get more airflow with minimal noise (30 dBA for 68 CFM, each). I will put the 2 120*25mm Tricools in the front, on "Low" setting. I will leave the 120*38mm Tricool where...

Which power supply for P180 and A8N?
I just read a bit in the forums and I found out that the Seasonic S12 series didn't fit correctly in the P180 because of the ATX12V wires not being long enough. I have a very big PCIE card (6800GT) and a PCI slot used by an Audigy 2, so I can't even think about re-routing the cables. What other sile...
