I will post pictures of my rig smewhere next week. The asus 6600gt silencer and A8N-E I have already, the other compenents I ordered are shipped today or tomorrow :P Edit: I got my PC assembled now. I was going to do some tests with prime95 and 3dmark05, but it seems that it's not possible to monito...

I still have my voodoo2 installed in a computer upstairs (not that I run any games on it  ) The voodoo2 was indeed a high-end card for a great price. But it also was the first and last high-end card I bought, once I noticed that the evolution of game-PC's is so fast. PS. My computer with 6600g...

What I try to say, if you don't buy a high end card now because they are way too expensive :!: in the future, when you upgrade with a second card in SLI, those videocards will be like 2 generations old or so. Of course it depends on how often you upgrade and what you use your PC for (I don't upgrade...

I don't understand why to get 2 cards in SLI anyway, remembering the voodoo2 that also had this function but without much succes. (Btw, the L shape won't work as the HS rotates only 90°) Anyway, the review I'm waiting for is IN a case with temperature readings for multiple parameters (casefans -->ai...

There seems to be more action going on now: *another review The temperature of the card was idle at 55-60°C and at load at about 70°C:!: BUT in the conclusion they say that they asked asus what price this card would be...130$ yeah right *the idea of placing the heatsink over the cpu (altough ...

Both CPU and Videocard are indeed hot components, but If the videocard is hotter (which I believe it is from reading other people's temperatures) the cool air will first cool the CPU and then the hotter videocard. And if it doesn't work as planned I'll turn the asus heatsink so it comes more in the ...

an idea I'm playing with: a thermalright xp-90 with a fan sucking air through the CPU-heatsink and blowing it right onto the rotated heatsink of the silencer. Another fan mounted in the sidepanel sucks air through the heatsink and blows the hot air out of the case. CPU>XP-90>fan>asus HS>fan>outside ...

perhaps 4 casefans is 1 to many indeed. But I can always install them and check out what combination gives the best results. The only thing is that it would be stupid to cut a hole in the floor and find out that it would have better been left untouched  which PSU I get will probably be decided...

what do you think of this configuration?
It’s time that my old PC gets replaced as it is slow, loud and never was very stable… My sister and me spend quite some time behind the PC, mostly for browsing the internet, emailing, chatting but also for making reports for school and for playing a game once in a while… Case: coolermaster cavalier ...

Damn, that's not very positive... I was hoping that the automaticly controll did work at least a litle (for example detect the difference between idle and 3d gaming). But this controller does not have a voltage range as is written in the specifications + does not save settings. So it's basicly worth...

Coolermate commander 7
Does anyone have experience with this fancontroller, because I can't find many reviews of it. (other then a few in deutch which I don't totally understand :? ) http://users.telenet.be/ajonista/commander.jpg With this controller it's possible to manually set the fan speed, but you can also choose to ...

does anyone know what price this card will have? I have seen a dutch site where it can be preordered for 204€ (250USD) , but that price can be wrong of course  here is a new article with some nice pictures of the rotating heatsink http://www.frostytech.com/permalink.cfm?NewsID=44135 and here i...

So far: the smartpower 2.0 is a good combination with the p180 or a regular atx case with the noisetaker I have found a better picture that shows how the 80mm fan is supposed to suck in fresh air: http://users.telenet.be/ajonista/cavfront.jpg Would the airflow be acceptable if the horizontal "grill"...

I don't have a case yet, I'm still in the "reading-reviews-phase" choosing every component of my computer wisely (perfomance/price), but did not look for top-silent products till I accidently came to this website :D The case that I have in mind now is the Coolermaster cavalier 3 because I think it l...

smartpower2 vs Noisetaker
Since my first visit to this site I have been browsing through many reviews FAQ's and this forum... I noticed that there are a few enermax powersupplies in the recommended list, but the recently reviewed smartpower 2 is not. On the other hand I have read multiple times that sucking in air directly a...
