Anyone seen any reputable benchmarks on this yet?

JMKE, do you have this in an upcoming roundup?

As opposed to replacing "just" the motherboard, CPU, graphics card and RAM in a desktop? edit: okay, being forced to upgrade the LCD -- now there's a drawback. Didn't think of it at first. Also the stuff you mentioned is about $600 for descent stuff. Thats still less than $1500. Plus I hate having ...

My only issue with this is that this is not a desktop. Its a laptop on a stand. In other words, you can't upgrade this mother.

So in a couple years you just toss it and get a new one if you want to run a newish computer game.

Thanks Elixer, I was going to try it anyway, but I wanted to hear that someone else has done it. It makes sense that it should be doable, since if a fan burns out and stops spinning it doesn't usually brake your computer. Just out of curiousity, has anyone out there FUBARed their computer doing this?

Maybe a very dumb question

I have a fan (one of four case fans) in my P180 which is behaving badly. Can I just plug and unplug a fan from the power supply while the computer is up and running?

FYI, we received a sample to review. Only came with A64 clip; we asked for a 478 clip (to keep with the same platform we've had for years). By the time we ran the initial tests on this, Thermalright had apparently changed their minds about putting this into wide production. They asked what we thoug...

I would not consider a review from Hartware.net as very helpful for my buying decision. I have followed them for years and their reviews have not improved much. You already spottet the likely wrong dB(A) reading for example. Their review process has always been a bit intransparent to me. E.g. they ...

This is an interesting heatsink to me. It's not all that big, did pretty well in that German review, and most probably has been refined a bit more from the one "ze Germans" reviewed. This made me email Thermalright inquiring about the availiblity since no one else seems to have reviewed or seen it s...

Freezer 64 Pro Disappoints

Here is a review of the Freezer 64 Pro:
http://www.hartware.de/review_515_1.html

and here is the page with the results:
http://www.hartware.de/review_515_16.html

According to babelfish, "Absturz" (see the bottom of the chart) means "Crash."

Here's to hoping they had a defective one!

it's 1.4K rpm. Buy only 90 L/hr. Zalman is 300 L/hr. And the price of the symphony is $100 higher. Not to resurect a dead thread, but I have seen a little misinformation about the symphony (something I am looking into). It actually has two of those 90 L/hr pumps. The word on the street is that thos...

That German review seems a little screwy. It has the HR-01 being 10 dB(A) quiter than the SI-120. It also says their fans and fan voltages are the same, but their speeds are different?

Also why do you think the Ninja is better? I haven't seen any evidence that shows that.

WELCOME TO SPCR.....(salutes) Thanks! Also I just realized the Shogun comes with a "Hypro Bearing Fan." Anyone know if its any good? If that fan is not too terrible, then, since there is a place that has the Shogun for $55, it seems like an excellent choice. Oh and opinions seem to differ on the ni...

Random questions about my new planned cooling setup

Long time lurker, first time poster who is finally registering for the purely selfish reason of having questions of his own  I plan to replace the stock cooler on my AMD 3000+ venice. There are several coolers I am looking at, but only two don't come with a fan already. They are the Thermalri...
