Re: can anyone recommend a quiet 140mm fan for PSU?

the xbitlabs article is a good one. I gotta decide whether i want to invalidate the warranty though, PSUs are the flakiest of parts in my experience (3 died in 6 years).

can anyone recommend a quiet 140mm fan for PSU?

Hi, I have an OCZ zt 750w PSU and the 140mm fan isn't very good. Are there any good quiet 140mm fans? or failing that has anyone used a 140 to 120mm converter and mounted the 120mm fan on the outside of the PSU case?

Just my 2 cents ;-) So I take it that you agree that whatever problem they have solved, it isn't particularly relevant to the cooling of PC cpus. yes, I don't think the problems they say they solve actually exist. It just seems odd that all the cpu coolers they compare it to were designed a decade ...

hmm, not sure it will boot from USB key, or if the troubles i had was just with trying to get it to spoof a floppy drive. When I first tried getting one up and running I tried a 64bit win7 and upon reboot it said not a valid win32 program ( i think), and am 99% sure they wont support 64 bit software...

just wanted to add my experience. Bump of the Year Nominee  In the end I gave up trying to run my 1066Mhz sticks at that speed. Am running 4x1gb OCZ at 333mhz (667 effective) at 5-5-5-15 1T on Asus striker. It's very stable at that speed and the games I play all run fast so I don't mind really.

300W PSU should be ample, and would be more efficient than a 400-500.

Dual link DVI means you can't have a half-height VGA card (unless the mobo has Dual-Link) so your case will be full height slots.
