Re: Noisy PSU on Shuttle SA76G2. Can it be fixed or replace
You could open up the PSU (voids the warranty obviously) and replace the two 40mm fans with Pabst or SilenX ones. Don't expect miracles though... It did make some difference but not enough to satisfy me and as a result I have given up on those shuttles (too bad, I really liked the formfactor and the...

Re: UPS recommendation needed
I have been using a APC Back-UPS CS 500 for the past 4 years and I would happily buy another one. It does not whine but it does occasionally make clicking sounds as if it is switching from main to ups power (but it is not). The fact that there is solid Linux support made me buy this one. You need su...

That is a very nice table, thanks! If I understand it correctly, if your system requires 65W then (with a Nexus 430) 65 / 0.765 = 85W will be needed as input? For a medium homeserver (65W) the Enermax 87+ will use 77.3W. Relative a saving of nearly 10%, in absolute terms "only" 7.7W. Annual saving (...

Ty: I assume you measure power usage at the wall outlet. In that case, do not forget about the PSU (in)efficiency... Suppose that the efficiency around 100W is 70%, then the actual power usage of your components is about 80W. RAID card, GB ethernet, 4 sticks of ram, a few watts each and it'll add up...

ITX boards with (digital) audio in?
The specifications of many ITX boards only list audio out, are there any that also do audio in? Preferably s/pdif?

Since a UPS is really just an AC-DC converter/battery charger/inverter and some switching, it seems like a poor design for today's PCs (since LCD monitors just need a DC supply). Seems like should do it AC-DC converter/battery charger/DC-DC converter (like a PicoPSU) to supply other computer voltag...

Looks real nice, though I think the streetprice will be too high compared to the competition. The AOpen MZ915-M retails for 324 euro for example. And, while not a SFF, a combination of the Antec P150 case and a mATX Pentium M board definately has it charms at 340 euro. Question to Rik: on "features"...
