hmm makes me wondering how useless the fan must be for a 'I know how to cool down things and to tell when its too hot' person.

maybe when I get around to it I'll pull the fan power cable out for some time and see how it is like afterward.

from the link in the first post of the thread (by MarkC) I noticed that the 8500DV was rated at 16-29W but I was wondering what the 7500AIW itself was actually rated at or is it very similar?

just noticed this thread and I had to say that both projects (this and marko's) looks quite nice. makes me starting to wonder about converting my slot1 system's psu to run fanless as well

anyhow I had to ask if this idea could work seeing that via says the design power is 20-21W: replace the hsf unit with a heat pipe system especially in a low height desktop system?

was not sure if this was too many watts to work with or not
