Hi there, First heres my system- http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/1485/dscf1602ql9.th.jpg I want to make my Graphic card passive, or make it quieter. I dont have the skills to add a new fan. It would probably be cooler if the CPU fan was running. The first thing that comes to mind is to gently pry the small Digital Home and Asus covers off the top of the chipset heatsinks. They interfere with proper airflow. No need for that. Just vioding warranty for no reason. Get a Nexus 5V and a Sc...

Strangely there is still a definite humming sound coming from the PC, but I cant locate what its coming from. Werider too, is that wh...

Where the 80mm fan is I would put a 120mm Yate Loon or slimilar at 5V.

How about letting the fan start up when the card reaches a certain temp?

Hi there,

The stock fan is not very good, quite a bit of bearing noise.

You would indeed be better off with a Nexus!

Hello! Well I didnt have the tools to mod the Zalman so I sold it along with the 92mm fan. I bought instead a Scythe Ninja, it was a pain in the ass to install even with the new bracket system and it does not seem as secure as my Zalman was. I have not got another Yate Loon yet so I proceeded to ins...

Hello KoolPC! The Scythe Ninja and Hr-01 are both good coolers, just some information for you though- The Scythe Ninja will probably run a 3500+ passive, but it might not fit in the 201. If I recall Ive seen some Scythe Ninja's in 201's so it should be ok, but its something you should look into. The...

Well I tried the fan swap and to be honest - 1. I do not have a drill bit to drill a hole small enough 2. I could not seem to get the metal fan frame off 3. I would like to go passive, or anything with a 120mm fan. So thats the main reasons, the Zalman 9500 is now the loudest thing in my case, and i...

Hi there, The 7600 passive cards will cope fine passive. You have an intake and an exhuast so that sounds good (I have no intake). That should be enough to keep the card at an decent temperature. The active coolers look very wimpy and they look like the fan is ready to fail. I reccomend the Gigabyte...

7900GTO,

The stock cooler is the BEST stock cooler out. Its quiet and very efficent. The card is faster than the 7900GT too.

Go for that.

I went for the normal HR-05, but upon installation I found that I needed to remove the motherboard and the Zalman was coping fine, so I just sold it.

I stopped the fan and the little humming sound went, so Im guessing thats the culprit.

Ill update when my 92mm Yate Loon arrives.

Thanks.
