Its in a tray like rail system thing, I put some packaging (Envelope with bubblewrap) on the bottom so it does not resonate.

My Scythe Ninja is now passive and its working great!

Where the 80mm fan is I would put a 120mm Yate Loon or slimilar at 5V.

How about letting the fan start up when the card reaches a certain temp?

Put a Nexus between the HR-03 and ninja at 5V

Running mine passive on my A64 3800+ Venice!

Temps- 32-36 C Idle

The stock fan is not very good, quite a bit of bearing noise.

You would indeed be better off with a Nexus!

The stock cooler is the BEST stock cooler out. Its quiet and very efficent. The card is faster than the 7900GT too.

Go for that.

I went for the normal HR-05, but upon installation I found that I needed to remove the motherboard and the Zalman was coping fine, so I just sold it.

I stopped the fan and the little humming sound went, so Im guessing thats the culprit.

Ill update when my 92mm Yate Loon arrives.
