I don't know if a Scythe Kozuti would be too wide for the DH61AG, but if it fits, a Kozuti http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185167 with the DH61AG case/PSU/mobo kit http://www.mini-box.com/KIT-M350-INTEL-DH61AG-19V-160W with an Intel dual-core Sandy Bridge chip and an SSD lik...

I have a GT that I undervolt with a Scythe Kaze Master 5.25" bay fan controller, and it seems perfectly happy. I also have used such controllers with 92mm Scythe Kama Flex fans, and 120mm Scythe Slipstream fans, all without buzzing.

If you'll be running a 64-bit operating system, I'd definitely spring for more RAM. It's so cheap now! And the OS's file cache in RAM is way faster than any disk.

I second the suggestion of a DH61AG Intel Mini-ITX board. You can get 2x8 GB SO-DIMM for around $100, so that's not a limitation. The board will cost $100-$130, shipped, and the brick around $40-$50 shipped. Great efficiency, and cheaper and easier than buying a separate Pico-PSU. I built a system o...

Just set up my "HIMURO-mini" with a "Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD5000BEVT 500GB 5400 RPM". It eliminated the idle whoosh/hum and greatly muffled the seeks. I could still hear an occasional noise that may be head unloading. I'm pleased. Oddly, it seems that it's designed for most of the padding to...

Nice!
Two questions:
1. Why leave the vent by the expansions slots open?
2. Are you using an intake filter?

I'm using a 92mm Xigmatek tower with one Scythe Kama PWM 92, to cool a stock i5-2300, and it seems to work just fine.
Given an ambient 20C, CPUs idle at 33C, load at 53C.
Very quiet. This is in a Solo 1.

LG L2000CP-BF 20" has an annoying buzz.
Samsung 204T 20" and 204B 20" are very quiet, but have been discontinued for some time.
In general, it's hard to find 1600x1200 20" monitors these days.

I have a ( windows-based for netflix ) TV setup with:

and it works great, though I didn't end up getting the case fan as quiet as I wanted, even with a fan swap.

Noctua has a nice tower cooler designed for just such situations: http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=productview&products_id=32&lng=en It is quiet and can pretty much handle any thermal load. And somehow manages to be around 1cm shorter than other 92mm-fan towers, thus actually fitting in this case!

Cheaper Z68 mobo with internal USB 3 ($130 instead of $170): GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3
I think your CPU cooler is overkill; you could save money by going with a Xigmatek tower ($25 + fan swap).
If rebates are your thing, these have $40 in rebates available as well.

If you can drop the optical drive, or use a USB one when the need arises, then the M350 is the case for you: http://www.mini-box.com/M350-enclosure-with-picoPSU-80-and-60W-adapter That's assuming the power draw is under 60W, which was at least the case for the uATX version of this board: http://www....

What's wrong with the P182 that you already have? Mediocre intake airflow, due to lack of fan for "CPU area" and excessive plastic in the front (can be fixed by modding and not a problem in P183, but I would rather avoid using my dremel). I assume that you have removed the plastic slats panels in f...

Definitely, including panels to block the unused fan mounts would be great. It's too bad that Antec seems to be giving up on the CP power supplies. They seem like a really good idea to me. This case doesn't seem like it would be a good match for a passive or semi-passive PSU. I guess the idea is tha...

I use Kaze Masters (two different versions that are similar) in two builds, and they're fine. They look pretty IMO, and fit in nicely with the Solo color scheme. Another board/CPU option would be an AMD E-350 board, which would save money, have worse CPU perf, and have better graphics. Boards on newegg are US $80-130, including both the mobo and the CPU.

Stick with Sandy Bridge -- they're very impressive from a performance/power point of view. You don't say what sort of programming you're doing. If compiling will require a lot of compute cycles, and can use multiple cores, you should definitely get a quad-core, like you're talking about. The "i5" or...

I think it might be a challenge to keep the system quiet with a GTX 570 -- the anandtech review shows their test setup ( though with a less efficient CPU than you'll be using ) drawing 361W when playing Crysis. I'm not sure how many people on this board have experience building systems with that kin...
