so then how about an S12-430? I factored in the DVD burner running at full speed, the hdd, 10 USB devices(didn't want to count but i have many), a soundblaster that I'll probably get soon, a 1.4v 2.5Ghz OC, 4 120mm LED fans(all low speed yate loon, 1 for SI-120, 2 for intake and exhaust, and 1 in th...

lol i wasnt sarcastic at all seriously, it really did help. However, the poster below did say that he's doing fine with a cheap 350w PSU w/16A on the 12v rail, while if I followed correctly, the guide in your sig suggests an S12-500 or an Enermax Liberty 500w. It does seem suspicious that these 500w...

how much power do i need?

I've recently been VERY confused around with PSUs. The S12 series recommended here seems awesome, but the power ratings just don't impress because an S12-430 has 14A/15A on the 12v rail and a $50 fortron has 18A on each rail. I guess it has something to do with peak power ratings and continuous ones...

I already plan to use some 120mm led coolermasters which get very bright, but having a blue led on top, in the power supply would provide a nice angle of illumination. Some people might suggest cold cathodes, but if I wanted that, I'd do it in a heartbeat. A bar of light is a lot less cooler than le...

I was thinking about that, but it seems that most PSU's have a 2-pin fan connector and the fans I can buy online ANYWHERE have 3 or 4 pins for power. I haven't heard of such thing as a 2-pin to anypin adapter, so if you could guide me to some fan swapping in PSUs that'd be great.(I already read the ...

active PFC *REQUIRED* on PSUs to work on UPS's??

I was wondering because the PSUs I'm looking at either have one or the other. The UPS I was going to buy is here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16842101002 My assumption is that without PFC is greatly increases the load on the UPS meaning shorter battery life, but I don't care a...

best PSU w/LED fan?

I was shooting for modular cables also and active PFC, but that narrows it down way too much, can't find ONE that has all those. I was looking at the coolermaster real power 450w but it looks like it'll be a bit noisy. I am NOT noise conscious at all, but I do have ears and it gets hard to sleep som...

it's obviously not the samsung drive's fault if it doesn't 'beat' when one of the seagates are removed. You should just get some softer grommets and it'll work. If you don't like suspending drives w/rubber bands, there are many other ways that are considered suspended, such as putting foam under dri...
