I have the drive. It's fast and pretty quiet in my system EXCEPT for the seek which is quite loud, but not irritating. I can't hear the whine. I have looked at the bottom to remove the screws. I heard from here it's a Torx fit? What size? I need to get one. Is this size Torx common in computer gear?...

I built audio playback and recording computers, and have tried many of the quiet drives including the Seagates and the Spinpoints. New 500GB Caviar - Not so Quiet!

I got the new 500GB Caviar (HD 500G|WD 7K 16M SATA2 WD5000KS ) to replace two of the very quiet Barracuda IVs in my system.
