Noctua NH-D14 or TRUE 120 Black for a 3930k?
Hey guys, Its been years since my last post. I'm building a new PC and I'm wondering what cooler to go with. This is going to be a 6 core 3930k intel, sitting in an Asus P9X79 and 8x4gb sticks of crucial ballistix low profile. No tall heatsinks for memory. All inside an old Antec P182. I've just ord...

The solution to the Geforce Squealing!! Finally!
These guys finally solved the problem of the Geforce Video Cards Squealing!! I'm glad to know that this wasn't a PSU problem at all. It's on the video cards using old analog circuitry. This applies to all Geforce models, and hopefully eliminate that nasty noise while you're playing top notch games. ...

NO FREAKING EXHAUST COOLING. AGAIN! STUPID FIXED FANS. AGAIN! No thanks Arctic. You sold your exhaust cooling solutions to videocard vendors; your partnerships to have your patents only being used with HIS Digital, living us consumers with PURE SHIT. You stopped doing exhaust solutions, and that's ...

Luminair, I kind of agree with part of you said. I take your rant in a good way :-). What I'm trying to understand from your rant is in which way you say I screwed up? You mean that the reason why I could have a problem with the heat when testing the HR-03 was because I did something the wrong way? ...

Thanks Vicotnik... The thing is is that in my case I've tried all the things that you've suggested. a) Leaving the top vent with no fan. My CPU is making about 38-39C Coretemps on Idle. b) Added a top 120mm fan for the top vent. Temperatures lowered only in the CPU. For about -2C. c) Covered that to...

Yes." its the modern day 8800 Ultra I only see more stream processors than an Ultra and a 512bit memory controller. Is it a next gen? Definet...

I need to add. The most unexpected thing happened yesterday. This could be answered by the Patrons or the real experts here. Hi, I'm not saying the Slipstreams are bad, nor getting into conclusions here. By the contrary, I love Slipstreams, they are by far the best fans I've ever tried. My only concern was about using them as an intake and specially on P182 cases. The dust filter is exactly the same as any other P182, and...

Sythe Slipstream Fans : Are they good as intakes?
Hi: I have a P182 rig, which has 2 Scythe Slipstream 1200RPM, one as an exhaust and the other one for the CPU. Until today,I used to have another Slipstream 800RM version as an intake fan. And now it has been replaced by a Scythe S-Flex 21D 800RPM. The reason... Last nigh I've noticed a persistent wh...

HI: I've been checking the latest news on the upcoming Nvidia GTX 280 (formerly called the 9900 GTX), which is supposed to be out on June 18th. Hot Summer Nights and my CPU Temps (Boo-hoo)
Hey guys: Ok. Everything was fine with my machine that I've built on Winter 2007. CPU temps did not exeed 50C on load at the most. (@3Ghz stock) I'm using a QX9650, cooled by a TRUE 120 and two slipstream fans. One on the heatsink and one for exhaust. I've been running it at stock frequencies. Proba...

Best Fan Configuration for the Thermalright Ultra and a Quad
Hi there: This are some Myths or Truths I'm sure the patrons here can bust wisely here. These are things I've always wondered : I currently have a Quadcore QX9650 with a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme inside a P182 Case. My exhaust fan is currently a Noctua NF-S12-1200 (1200 RPM) The fan attached to...

I knew it, the Slipstream M rocks. I currently have 2 of them in my system.... the only thing though is that I didn't know that they really move 47CFM at 12v instead of the 68CFM Scythe claims. In other words, between the Nexus 120 Real Silent D12SL and the Slipstream M there should be almost no dif...

NO, I've read peopleusing actual 1200RPM fans, even Quiet Yate Loons, same as Nexus fans. I just can't believe I cannot get those temps, with a Scythe Slipstream 1200 hitting almost 66-68 CFM! Yes, if it take that fan out of the heatsink the GPU will probably burn in hell, and I hope it does, I...
