FWIW, it seems that all ASROCK socket 1156 motherboards have dual heatsink mounting holes (775 and 1156). I, personally, am not certain I want an ASROCK motherboard for this particular machine.

All socket 478, 775, 754, 939 and 940 processors have thermal protection/throttling. Overheating shouldn't be an issue as they'll slow down and eventually shut down.

The Ninja isn't appropriate for a socket A, 370 or other earlier processor styles.

I believe that they are similar in speed, but check with storagereview.com to verify that in your particular application(s).

The Seagates exhibit a high-pitched whine that's particularly annoying. It's not very loud, but if it's the only sound coming from a system it'll drive you batty. Get the Samsung. It's not much quieter, but the profile of the noise is much easier to ignore.
