the only way to know is to try. Just some things to think about…how does the air go in to past, and out of the area. I would think if you can blow air into the intake in any way you would be better for it. It might be a simple issue if the air intake is on the bottom, raising the machine just a bi...

what are some other things that you can use other than the kits that are like $70 This is a popular question. I have been very happy with acustipac(SP?) but is not cheap. What kind of case do you have? It really depends on what kind of sound you are treating and how quite your stuff already is. Eve...

I used some foam rubber sleeping pad (camp pad), for building Hard drive holding frames. It was a reasonable vibration isolation for a machine moved around enough not to want to do a suspension. I attempted to use some as case insulation with no real luck. I think things that are sticky all over (be...

I think the real think to do is just try it. In my case It had a really strange effect of substantially lowering the CPU temp and raising the PSU temp higher than I was comfortable with. I think if you have gone to the trouble and expense of Acousticpak, you don’t want to open a direct sound path....

I have an Antec Sonata (1) case, rear fan triggered to only come on at 110F system temp, and a neo PSU, ninja+, acoustipac. The perfect desk can be almost anything to the person who uses it. I have been very happy with my Ikea, GALANT desk. They are not cheap, but you can get a wide range of styles and colors. Also it is very easy to adjust taller. I have mine 76 cm, but it could easily be more. Also modular, so if you w...

I have an ionic air filter, it makes very lound nose when it is time to be cleaned.
And it does make an electrical noise that I can hear on a very quite day from 10 feet away.
the filter does move alot of air, but it is at zero pressure diff. so moving air from an intake to a case would be different.

Hey, i was wondering how effective the hard drive grommets that come with the sonata 2 at reducing hard drive noise and vibration. This might be a bad question but are you using the case, or just reusing the grommets? Are you considering a different grommet, or suspension or silent box? They do not...

I don’t think you will see a benefit other than cosmetic. If you are often moving your hard drives the sonata is better in my mind.

It is expensive. and difficult to replace the fan.

I think the ARCTIC COOLING Copper Silent 2M is a better (read less cost)option for you.
Also the Zalman may be to large at the top of the case, but I can not be sure of that.

Not necessarily, remember A while ago the Casepower.com Coolive got attention here for being small and different, and having a huge fan. http://www.casepower.com.tw/english/ArticleSh...
