Hey Guys, thanks for the replies & ideas. No, I haven't actually tried using the speed settings. I'll give it a go before buying a new drive. Another option I have is to keep my IDE plextor drive when I switch all my hard drives over to SATA. That drive didn't do all this nutty stuff.

Pioneer DVR-115D or the DVR-215D...

I'm on my 2nd Samsung 203N which is as loud as a truck, looses its 'place' when reading things, & overall, I hate it. So the two drives above are available from NewEgg and from what I've been reading, Pioneer seems to have the quietest drives. Which is quieter? Any other recommendations for a qualit...

Title only search?

Would it be possible to add a search option under advanced search that will let us do a search on the title only?

It would make it easier to find threads dedicated to particular topics. :)

I logged in to share how much I like my Unicomp keyboard. It has the old style IBM keyboard feel and sound. It kills any type of quietness but I'm old-school and can't get enough of the keyboard. I'm thinking of even buying one of there Linux ones. If its important to you, the keyboards are made in ...

Laing DDC 2 w/ Petra'sTech DDCT-01s Top Combo

Has anyone used one of these from Petra's? Is it "SPCR-quiet" or should I look elsewhere?

Thanks!

They're euro and overseas shipping is a somewhat expensive affair though. Actually, I just ordered two barbs from them and the shipping only cost about $7 which isn't too much, at least to me. Also, in the bottom right of the web page they have a currency choice of Euros, Dollars and something else...

What kind of temps are you getting? More importantly, what was the degree drop for you when you switched from air to your current W/C setup?

PWM controller questions & Poll

Does anyone know where I could find out about the positives/negatives of using a PWM controller? Maybe here? From what I currently understand, the only difference is that the PWM's don't give off as much heat and make it so the fans use less electricity. Is that true or is there more to it? An...

Hi frankgehry... Thanks for posting about this pump. Thats the one I am going to be buying. Did your pump come in a swiftech box? It might seem like an odd question but the company I ordered mine from sent a generic one instead of the swiftech one I ordered. It was also dusty like it had been sittin...
