Not known yet as it has just arrived in the United States. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136284 I was looking at some pics from Japan and it seems that it has the same chassis as the SE16 640GB. Hard to tell, but it looks like it has 7 ribs for your acoustic pleasure. 8) h...

I just noticed the Scythe Ninja 2 SCNJ-2000. Looks like the copper version sans the copper. :D And is that a slipstream fan? It still has those stupid push pins though.

Ok, it looks like WD has updated the 1TB GreenPower with 333GB or 334GB platters. The model number is WD10EACS-D6B0. Looks like they used the same model number again.

LOL you sure are a quick poster. :) I just edited my post so tell me what you think.

I was just thinking that maybe they used the "better" heads for the 640 and the less capable heads for the 320.

But you're probably right. They just went a little crazy with the firmware.

You are correct nicko, but my cache is bigger than your cache. Haha J/K. I think they will have to give in to the marketing aspects of 32 megs before too long. I respectfully disagree about the 7,200rpm 320GB's seek time though as 16.4ms is a lot slower than the 5,400rpm GreenPower's 14.8ms. ...

Yay, a fast and quiet drive! Hmm, if TechReport is claiming the 2 platter WD 640GB at 12.9ms seek is nearly as quiet as the Green Power, then why slow down the 320GB so much? I understand their logic for providing a quiet OEM drive, but it seems they went a little too far. As for 32MB of cache: I'll...

Thanks for the info. Seems everyone is rushing to 320GB platters on the desktop and 160GB platters in notebooks. I don't think these are too widespread yet. And IIRC, the 7200.10 had a 250GB single-platter model before the 7200.11 arrived. BTW, I was reading some of the 7200.11 reviews on Newegg and...

I was hoping that the discrete VGA card would be disabled when in 2D mode but your power data suggests this wasn’t the case. Maybe a driver issue!... It's a driver issue in the sense that the feature hasn't been included yet. It will be in a near-term Catalyst release, maybe the next one. ATI has...

As far as I know, it is just the opposite for the same capacity drives, since fewer platters mean more compressed dada, and thus faster transfer allowed with less head movement. So, the Samsung 1TB with 3 platters should be faster than the competitors with 4 or 5 platters... I think we're talking a...
