As I own a macbook I can say that the fan is pretty quiet most of the time. From time to time it ramps up for ~2minutes. Could be annoying if it's super quiet but I use mine most of the time at the university so i don't notice it that often. If you want to swap out the hdd for a ssd remember that yo...

The fan might fit but it's very close with it.
I just tried with one installation bracket and held the fan next to the Minja.

Scythe Mini Ninja
Thermalright SI-128 and Si-128se
Those three will fit without any problems.

There should be some Zalman coolers but I don't know how their names are.

Stopping the running D12SL and the NeoHE fan doesn't change the sound at all

fan swap or new PSU?

The fan in my PSU (the original NSK2400 one, can't get the name right now:p) is by far the loudest part in my pc. The only other moving parts are a 2,5" hdd which is dampened and two D12SL @ 7V. I am thinking of replacing the PSU fan with the 80mm fan of my Mini Ninja. The fan is a Scythe Model:DFS8...

Today my Mini Ninja finally arrived. It looks great and the box is just as flashy as any other Scythe box. Every required accessory is included but the 775 mounting is a bit hard to mount. Make sure you don't have your mainboard in your case. A 80mm Fan is included aswell as mounting brackets for 80...

I just ordered one at http://friese-it.de/index.php
Lets see if it can cool my E4400 passively with one or two 120mm Yates.
Case is a NSK2400.
I couldn't resist buying it, I hope it arrives till Tuesday next week.

Excuse my bad English but I'm in a hurry (got to work:()

i had never imagened 6 weeks could be that long :(

I don't want to order a SI-128 to replace the extremely loud stock cooler and realise only 2 weeks afterwards that the mini ninja performs better when it's passive.

Scythe could provide me a testing example.

I'm sure drivers and people who pay heating bills are enjoying it a lot more.
I'm sure ski lift operators and hotels aren't enjoying their lower heating bills at all.
Although I enjoy delivering advertisments at this year's temperatures.
