Re: Thermalright TRUE Spirit 120M CPU Heatsink

"We weren't able to find any concrete information on pricing but the original Cogage True Spirit is still being sold at some retailers for about US$40. If the latest version is priced near or under that mark, it's a fairly good value. However, it would not be our first choice unless it meets a heigh...

CULV Nettops - When!?!?

I really love the idea of these nettops but from everything I've read, even with Ion or dual core or more RAM or Win 7, they just aren't quite fast enough to do anything but the *most* basic of stuff. If when someone can stuff an Intel CULV proc in one, even if it has to be a bit bigger, I think the...

Ok, fair enough - I thought it was top-down coolers but appreciate now that low profile was the priority...

My apologies

Xilence Black Hawk Copper

The Xilence Black Hawk Copper got an extremely favourable review from xbitlabs so it was a shame it didn't make it into your selection but maybe a follow up mini-review on it could be done? http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coolers/display/xilence-black-hawk-copper.html They conclude: "In our opinion...

A little more insight

Well maybe the fault's more with Intel than Asus! Still not excusable in my eyes of course :) Anyway, here's a little more insight in to the issue with the G45 chipset for any of those interested: http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=12677 Here's a snippet: "Brezenski also talked a bit about...

I just find it hard to understand - the integrated graphics on these boards are derived from the chips on discreet graphics cards, albeit in a tweaked way (mainly to reduce power usage) - graphics cards which for the best part of a decade have been able to display 2D graphics (over vga no less) flaw...

HDMI

I'm sorry but a modern motherboard, even with integrated graphics, should be able to support any resolution up to 1080p over hdmi *flawlessly* with 1:1 pixel mapping and zero overscan. Quite simply this is pathetic and inexcusable (the board not the reviewer) and you shouldn't be making excuses for ...

More fans

Same old list of recommended fans.... I still don't understand all this effort to create and describe in detail such a good test bed without testing new fans. 4-5 months and still no review of Scythe S-Flex :( Apologies for complaint - just think that time spent updating the test bed write up would ...

Thermalright comparison

well the P4 was more powerful at higher clockspeeds even if less efficient and going down a dead end... anyways, this thermalright comparison might be of interest to those here http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=286 it kind of begs the question to me: what could the Ultra-120 achieve with pseudo-p...

Thanks for the link Felger. Though I am a little surprised by the results, I appreciate the trouble you went to get them and consider them serious objective information.

OCZ vs Seasonic

Thanks Oleg and others. BTW Oleg, have you got a link for your graph or was it constructed yourself? Thks.
I guess the Seasonic is convincing given the backing it has by so many here - shame it hasn't got nice sleeved cables but the noise factor is more important.

Scythe S-Flex

Thanks jaganath. Thing is, and at the risk of sounding very demanding, I get the impression from people's comments and some reviews that these fans might best the Nexus ones. Given that this site specialises in Silent component reviews, is probably the most prestigious one on the net in this regard,...

OCZ GameXStream 600W & 700W

Could we get reviews of the OCZ GameXStream 600W & 700W PSUs please? Especially vis-a-vis the Seasonic S12 600W. Just that I've read many reviews that wax lyrical about how quiet the new OCZ PSUs are, especially for such a powerful PSU. Of course, what I would love to know is how quiet are they in t...

can you guys do a review of the Scythe S-Flex fans please? Have heard some reports that they are very quiet with fluid dynamic bearings and are comparable to Nexus, if not better. Would a full review be possible? Would love to read SPR analysis...
