Re: HTS1155LP with a PCIe card on a riser in a 1U rack case?
why would you want to put a card on top of the CPU if there's room to the right. Exactly. *IF* there's room to the right... So is there? Would the HTS1155LP heatsink&fan and the card fit together on the side? If I could find a 1.XU case, I would gladly explore that possibility and would probably us...

HTS1155LP with a PCIe card on a riser in a 1U rack case?
is there a way to make them fit together in a 1U rack case? Perhaps a mainboard like the DQ77KB could be so thin that the PCIe card could fit directly above it (with the HTS1155LP mounted on the CPU between the PCIe card and the mainboard)? Or is the HTS1155LP thin enough that the PCIe card could fi...

yes, the 19V input is the most interesting thing on this board. Otherwise similar low-power ratings perhaps could be achieved on the DH77DF or DH77EB?Listener wrote:19v power input rather than an ATX connectorJJ wrote:There's nothing inherently low power about the motherboard

I'm deciding between these two too.
I'll probably use the pentium G630T cpu (a dual core 35W sandy bridge)

Re: Scythe Big Shuriken 2 & Reeven Vanxie CPU Coolers
Is it a typo or am I missing something?
The big shuriken 2 spec says: "Combined Dimensions: 125 x 135 x 58 mm" and the fan's supposed to be 12mm
But on the second page it says "The cooler measures 125 x 38 x 135 mm"
shouldn't it be 58 - 12 = 46 ?

how is your fan speed control with the Intel DH77DF? Can you control both 4pin pwm and regular 3pin fans with speedfan on it?

Re: Noctua NH-L12 Low Profile Cooler
looks like it might be better than the big shuriken 2 rev.B (without fans) although it's a bit taller. I wonder how much it would stick out of the new lian-li pc-q12 case (without the fan). At least the big shuriken 2 would fit without sticking out

Re: looking for a tiny ITX case (27x7x20cm)
the case looks great, except I don't think I could fit a 3.5'' HDD, a full size low profile heatsink and at least one 10x10cm radial blower in it. That's why I need one of the dimensions to be at least 27cm

Re: looking for a tiny ITX case (27x7x20cm)
thanks, I already considered the antec, but it's too small (248mmmm < 27cm)
I also went thru all the cases listed on mini-itx.com and they are all either too big or too small, the only one I liked is the Morex

Re: big shuriken or axp-140?
interesting, I was not aware there was a version 2 of big shuriken...
but I haven't found any comparison test yet
I know they were not designed to be passive, but they are the best low profile heatsinks under 7cm I could find. Before there was shuriken I used thermalright xp-120

fan speed control
the 4pin cpu fan header works fine with 4pin fans via speed fan, even the 3pin system fan header can be controlled using linear dc mode, but I'm unable to slow down a 3pin fan on the 4pin cpu fan header.

some pico psu models can withstand higher load ("peak load") for a short period of time (~60s), consult the manual for your model.

sideport useless?
I'm wondering what is the sideport good for... When I set the IGP to use sideport mem only, is is unable to decode 1080p. When I switch to UMA+SidePort, everything works fine.

axial or radial?
I'd like to positive-pressurize my 1u case (something like this ) and I'm deciding between axial and radial fans. I know radial fans are noisier but are supposed to push more air in high-constrictive environments (like a 1u case). I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of silence but when I tried the BFB101...
