Re: power fans using external USB unit.

I am not electrically inclined but I think I ended up using an old cell phone charger that I accidentally broke the charging tip and just spliced the wires by twisting them and wrapping them in electrical tape. On a whim, I bought something similar to this at my local Fry's Electronics. Cooler Guys ...

The ze part is more like "eh" than "ee".

So I'd say something like kah-zeh.

Regardless, I still pronounce karaoke, "care-ee-o-kee" and not how Zapp Brannigan said it in Futurama.

Wish your motherboard had an integrated GPU so I could get a rough estimate of how much energy the eco-9800 GT's use.

I have the R1600 which is the single core version and at default settings, it runs the fan at 30% (or 3000 RPM I think) according to Speedfan. Unfortunately, I bought this because I volunteer at a lab and I can't use the passworded PC's so there's way too much background noise to drown out any noise...

The case; as it is, has very limited airflow. There are tiny slits on the sides which probably really do nothing. Then there are two slots on the front and the grill on the top. It's really cramped and there's going to be cables all over the place. I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure the heatsink w...

I have a Zalman 7700 in it and it barely fits. That being said, the Zalman 7000 should fit. People have also said that the Scythe Shruiken will fit.

I don't think it's really the best case to use a separate video card unless you remove the stock power supply.

The Ninja doesn't fit in the NSK1300/NSK1380 either.

The power supply has the same form factor and location as the Aria so the stock power supply had to be removed in order to use any tall heatsinks.

I honestly don't find them to be that bad and the fact that they are free is icing on the cake. But for me, the hard drive noise was louder than the fan but since I've replaced it with a laptop drive, I went and got a retail 3-pin Tricool and using Speedfan, it spins at 700 RPM and is inaudible to me.
