Thanks all for the help. It is clear to me now.
I will probably put cable ties on the extra connectors and call it a day.
I do like this fan. It's pretty quiet and seems to blow a lot of air.

This question was already asked a few months ago but short answer is : YES, you can cut the molex connector/wire and NO you should never plug them both. If you cut the wire, make sure you wrap the live ends with electrical tape to avoid shorts and shocks. Make sure you search previous threads a bit...

Make sure you search previous threads a bit more next time. searching for "yate loon cut off molex connector" returns 405 pages of results, even in "show topics only" mode. easier just to ask, no? Thanks, That's what I experienced. Anyway, isn't this what forums are for? Asking questions and...

Yate loon 120mm fan. Help needed
OK, I'm a silent computing noob. I just received my Yate Loon 120mm fan today and I'm getting ready to install it but I have a few questions. The fan has a 3 pin motherboard connector and a 4 pin molex connector. I don't have a fan controller and I just want to plug it in and let the motherboard con...

Please help with Fong Kai FK-343
I recently bought this case on Ebay and I can't for the life of me figure out how to mount the front 92mm fan. The website says its tool less but a 92mm fan just does not fit in the funnel. Am I missing a part or something?
Thanks

Quietest 70mm fans
I'm planning to replace the heatsink fans in my server to make it a little quieter. The heatsinks themselves are old but they are not stock intel and they seem pretty good. The only problem is they have 70mm fans on them and they are a little noisy. Can you guys please recommend some quiet 70mm fans...

Recommendation for a heatsink fan for dual xeon setup
Hello, I would like to replace the fans on my heatsink. I am running dual xeon 2.4 processors and would like to make it a bit quieter. The fans are 80mm and use 3 pin connectors to the motherboard. I would like to use the same connections and have the motherboard continue to control the fan speed. I...

Hey, I'm not willing to do that much customization. This pc does not have to be silent it just has to be quiet. The reason for the pentium D and not a northwood is because my supplier can't get northwoods anymore, and doesn't have many mobos for them anyway. I am willing to do any customization that...

Please critique my build
Hey Guys, I'm new to this board. I do onsite computer service and I've built many computers. I've built a few semi-quiet machines. One of my clients requested a new machine that's as quiet as practical and as fast as practical. The guy won't be using it for gaming, photoshop, cad, or anything else t...
