Re: Has anybody tried undervolting sandybridge yet?

If they can be undervolted so well, is there any point in buying the expensive 2390 or T/S versions of the CPUs? Might as well get a 2500K on Z68 with overclock potential and better GPU, right? I agree with you...plus you have the choice of increasing clocks and volts in the future, to keep up with...

Re: Has anybody tried undervolting sandybridge yet?

Sandy Bridge, Part 2: Intel DH67BL & Asus P8H67-M EVO H67 Motherboards SPCRs review included the Asus board where the EPU utility undervolts the CPU by about 0.05V at idle and 0.8V under load. I would guess that you can probably undervolt more. But like withe the Clarkdale CPUs, there's little to n...

Has anybody tried undervolting sandybridge yet?

Hi. Im interested in knowing how well desktop sandybridge (i5-2500k,i7-2600k) undervolt at stock speeds, and lower frequences. Has anybody tried it yet?......cheers.

Sharp have brought out a new range of tvs (le600 and le700 series), which are supposed to be the most efficient out there. Has full LED lit screen (not edge lit). Off the top of my head, the lc32le600 uses about 50 watts...and cost about £600. The 52" version uses about 100 watts :).

Does win vista use more power than win xp?

I was wondering about vista's power consumption. Does it use more power than xp?.....even after disabling aero?

If it does use more power, then does this mean that vista users are getting less performance per watt?

I dont know why more manufacters dont sell heatsink and duct packages like the hr-01 plus. Id say a heatsink and duct setup is the best balance between noise and temp. I have a duct for my HR01 and will likely give it a try eventually. But I don't think I'd use it in a case with only one exhaust fa...

Is there any 3rd parties producing universal fan ducts that can fit a different assortment of heatsinks? Would be interesting to try a true 120 ducted to 120mm case exhaust fan. So its not looking too promising then. Chances of seeing the hd4870 idle at 10w is virtually zero.I was planning on a major overhaul of my rig by the end of the year and chances are the rv870 (40nm) cards will only be available by feb/march time. I suppose i can wait a few extra months.

AMD rv870 news

This chip is expected to arrive 1q 2009. Quote: It's been known for some time that RV870 would be a shrink of RV770. The node following 65/55nm would be 45/40nm, but we weren't sure if AMD would go to 45nm or directly to half-node 40nm. It's now clear that AMD will go directly to 40nm and aim for a ...

Looking at some early info about amds upcoming hd4850 graphics card. Some people have got these cards early and are reporting idle temps at around 68c. I thought these cards were to burn around 10w idle?
