Re: Corsair 250D MiniITX - Spacious - Silent
Thanks for the response. I'll look at the fans over on the Newegg site and some different PSU options. Oh! Have you had any issues yet with the passive setting of the PSU with game loads? This isn't a new HTPC build so it doesn't have to be too quiet but I don't want to have that jet plane sound eit...

Re: Corsair 250D MiniITX - Spacious - Silent
I have this case arriving today so I came back to see this. I started adding parts over at Newegg and man, this is a pretty pricey build! I was going to build a simple PC and of course you just keep piling on the parts. Are the case fans that you used the NF-S12A-FLX? Was the onboard video n...

Thanks for the info. I'm guessing that you had no need for an optical drive.

Re: Corsair 250D MiniITX - Spacious - Silent
Very nice! I've seen this case before and I just read over some Newegg reviews one person was talking about mobo warping. Have you had any issues? And in your completed shot with the OS running, what is that little device on top of the rig? Wifi?

Thanks guys. I've upgraded two of the slim fans to the 2000 rpm models to move a bit more air around and also upgraded to PowerDVD9 Ultra. I've also tested and successfully recorded 4 TV shows at once in 7MC. PDVD9 seems to have integrated into 7MC for BR playing. But I still have the problems playi...

Well, I guess this project is done, hardware wise anyway. I have installed the 2 dual HDTV cards and I now have them working. I've ripped a few disc to try some setups in Windows 7 Media Center and Sage TV. http://home.comcast.net/~alexander1469/HTPC/front.jpg Here, both dual tuner cards are install...

Thanks. The cooling is normally done with 3 40mm fans in the back of the case above the I/O shield. Other than that, you have to get a little creative. :D I'm considering using a couple of those Scythe slim fans attached to the hard drives. The fans come with a bracket to do so. That way it can pull...

Yeah, when I saw it and found out it was smaller than the Antec I knew it would be the next case for me. Full size PSU and Optical drive. Space for 3 full size HDDs. I'll be glad to get away from Antec. http://www.frozencpu.com/images/products/large/cst-865.jpg http://www.frozencpu.com/images/produc...

I'm also looking for a fanless heat sink for this chip. But I would require a lower profile. I won't know exactly until I get the new case, a Moneual Moncaso 312B.
More than likely I'll end up using a low profile heat sink and a fan. Passive is wishful thinking under the best conditions.

Try playing around with some of these "Slim" fans. I have attached to my 3.5" 1TB storage HDD in my Antec NSK2480 case. They might be of use to you.
Scythe Kaze Jyu Slim 100mm 1,000RPM Case Fan They also come in a 2,000RPM model.
I like the video card heat sink. How heavy is that thing?

Got a new 9800GT. Would like to make it passive...
If it's it possible. If not, then I'll try to quiet it down some.
XFX 9800GT
I also have an old BFG 7950GT OC card. I'd really like to quiet that one down. It's the loudest component in my PCs.
Any suggestions?

I'm also thinking that I might take your advice and loose 4GB and keep with Vista 32. I have seen some reports that Vista 32 will only recognise 3GB out of a 4GB set up, had anyone had any experience of this? The is the exact question that I need answered. I just bought 4gb of RAM and a 1TB hdd for...

I'm actually interested in this case. I would like to rebuild my older HTPC components into it. Maybe toss in a Blue Ray drive. Sucks about the screws. How did you turn down the CPU fan speed? Mobo utility? I really don't like that Vantec NexxStar external case. The drive gets hot and it never stops running. I have to find another alternative. Other than that and the CPU fan speed things are fine. http://home.comcast.net/~al...

That Zalman isn't our exact CPU HSF, but it's pretty close in design. I like that Shuriken!!! I was hoping for a slim designed fan but didn't know they actually existed. I may have to check into it. I need to read up on it some more for the setups height and compare it to the HSF that came with the ...
